  1. Obviously but when you are returning a phone to ring it out properly to the same customer you can change its status in sprints system back to new and sell it correctly to the same customer. That way sprint does not waste a phone and the customer does not have to switch all their stuff over or in this guys case be with out a phone.

I think I may have read that wrong. Yeah if the ESN had been attached to the account. I don't see why they couldn't do it unless someone didn't know how to do it or didn't want to.

  2. If its a corp store all the manager had to do was go into our back office system and change the phones status from "activated" to "new". Having to resell devices to fix problems is pretty common. Seems like you unfortunately have an incompetent local store or if it was a third party they truthfully could not change its status.

Plus its very wasteful seeing how back ordered the device is.

They can't sell it as new if it has been opened.

  3. I want to add my brother in law to the framily on our account -- and use an old Epic (BYOD) -- I can not see where it will let me add a line but BYOD (it appears to be making me buy a new phone)... Any help? If not, what would be the fastest easiest way to add him on the account? Phone, web, in store?

    Store would be the best

  4. So I finally just got done reading through all 49 pages of this and just to clear things up, this is what I'm getting from all of this (and please correct me where I'm wrong)

    - There is no premium data charge

    - Current Sprint customers cannot join into Framily plans

    - If people are looking for openings go to the Sprint Facebook page

    - You can switch over to Framily only in store (but also through chat & over the phone?) not online

    - There is an Unlimited data guarantee for the Framily plan but ONLY the Unlimited plan (not the 1 GB or 3 GB plan)

    - Off network voice roaming is 800 minutes and data is 100 MB

    - Subsides are not available on the Framily plan, but a device can be purchased out right for the full price, you can bring your own device that is Sprint certified (not from Virgin Mobile, Boost or Assurance Wireless) or you can sign up for Easy Pay and spread out your payments over 24 months

    - Discounts will be taken off of ONLY 3 GB or Unlimited data plans NOT the 1 GB or the actual bill

    - You are NOT in a contract - it is "like" a prepaid - where it is a month to month

I hope I got everything? Just wanted to try and clear everything up for people still looking at this plan and can't keep up with the thread.

*** Unanswered question: Do discounts come off of phones?

Sprint is offering most people with just a single line of service to merge on a framily. Just what I have seen through the weeks.

  5. I am happy sprint dodged a bullet, not near the gains of others but a plus is a plus.Do tablets count as new customers if you already have a sprint account?Lets hope sprint can keep it going. On a side note, I was in the sprint store looking at the flex, the sales rep was pushing to a note 3 I explained to him that it wasnt triband - he and his boss agreed it was and told me to check. Anyways, I asked them to get the boxes out and showed them it wasn't. They looked online and finally agreed. My point is, this could also be a reason of disappointment if customers are being misguided into something that they are told will work for whatevEr their needs may be. These guys swore the note 3 was spark enabled!

They must not know their product

  6. I have a neighbor that wants to do a Framily with me (5 plus his 2 lines gets us to 7)... We both have lines under contract (but upgraded before Jan 10th)... Have I understood it correctly that this is not allowed under the current rules?

For some accounts sprint can merge existi g customers in the same framily. Just check with customer care or go into a corporate sprint store.

  7. I know this but that means they would have to do away with a plan they spend money on promoting and that is the everything my way plan. Without a 2 year upgrade the everything my way plan would be useless.

And i just called account services and asked to talk to a a account services supervisor and of course they would not tell you if they even knew but i was assured that when my phones are upgrade ready in 3 months ill be able to get a upgrade at the sub price.

If you opt to keep paying the subsidiezed cost of the phones. There will be a 15 dollar charge for each phone for not going to the easy pay option.

  8. Hmm... this is really interesting and might be the reason I end up back at Sprint rather than MVNOs. Frankly the new device embargo is frustrating.

I am currently on Ting paying ~$40 to $65 depending on the month for my Wife and I's 2 lines (I actually have ~$200 in Ting credit remaining right now from posting a referral link on reddit 4 months ago). I have a Nexus 5 but she has an older EVO3d and is keen to move to an iphone.

So, my situation looks like this if I join a Framily (ugh that name) and it gets the price down to $25.

    (Me)Line 1: $25+$10 (already have a nexus 5 and don't expect to use above 3GB)

(Wife)Line 2: $25+20 (wants an Iphone and also uses a surprising amount of data when we don't govern it with the Ting account tools)

Can someone explain upgrade pricing for that $20 unlimited data? Do I pay the $199 or whatever downpayment and the rest of the cost of the phone is included in that $20 for annual upgrades? If I get her a new iphone a year later do I pay the $199 again?

    Thanks guys!

You would be paying that rate only if you have 7 lines or more on a plan

    Your cost would be

    (50+10) for the nexus

(50+20+21) for the 5s and you want to get insurance for the 5s. Sprint will only take back working non cracked phones with the upgrade. The catch is it must be a Sprint authorized replacement device if something does happen to it.

  9. Does anyone know if there is a SRA in and around the area of Paris TN? Sprint maps and devices show native coverage in the area, but all Sprint MVNOs show the town, and main route into town as roaming. I haven't been able to find anything, thought someone here might know.

    It's definitely SI wireless

  10. In my experience i can tell you that 96 out of a 100 people are completely dumbfounded when i talk about tri band, spark or really anything techinical. All they hear is bigger is better....bigger mp cameras or bigger processors. And in the end they just act confused and ask for a galaxy or iphone. Thanks to great marketing people do not give a fuck other than does it work and do you have the gold one. Lol

  11. No, it is not.  And that is why career salesman shift jobs from selling cars to insurance to mortgages to electronics.  Sales is sales.  And in many instances, the more knowledgeable and informative the salesman is, the more indecisive the consumer becomes in the face of a more complex choice.

I won't argue with you about it because I've succeeded in multiple sale fields. Yes it's enough to be informed about technology, but the actual interworks of the network is asking a lot. I guarantee most Verizon salesman don't know which frequency they use in their cellphones. the company should push it to an employee. So you're telling me it's relevant from going to a car dealership to a cellphone store. It's simply not the same. I've done both jobs

  12. When I sold cars, we were expected to not only complete all the training courses with Chrysler, but we had access to computers and were expected to research for ourselves to improve our knowledge and sell more cars.

it's kind of apples and oranges from a car dealership and a telecommunications corporation.
