  1. zzz...Manufacturers continue to rush out half-baked Android phones, what else is new.

*Note, I like Android in theory. I'm the first to admit it's prettier and easier to use than iOS. But in practice it's a pile.

/edit The Nexus line is solid and the Galaxy Nexus is a teriffic phone. But even on the Nexus S it's kinda crappy. For example they didn't fix SMS messages so if you go over 160 characters, it just turns into gibberish.

What about the practice of Android is a "pile?" Other than SMS, seeing how the character limit has been a standard since 1985.

  2. That may be 3G but it only looks like EvDO rev. 0 check under status for the EvDO revision.

    It's Rev A.

Those tests were done on the first day I noticed 3G was popping up, it was off and on for a few days after that.

7 tests done over the past 3 days have averaged 1.85Mbps down, .62Mbps up and latency of 142ms.

Coming from 15-20kbps down, 140-200kbps up and latency of close to a full second, I can 100% say that I've seen improved data speeds. I've also had 0 dropped calls since this has taken place, where I would normally have 1-2 a day.

  3. According to the NV list, you aren't scheduled for Network Vision upgrades until later this year, but they could have already put compatible equipment up ahead of time. At least, hopefully they did.

I know. And after hearing about some issues with the Chicago rollout, I was expecting LATE end of the year. It may just be a upgrade to EVDO, but I find it hard to believe going to that trouble and then coming back in a few months and doing more work.

Granted, when does Sprint ever make sense.
