  1. I think the radio in the iphone is not as strong at in the android devices. I live near a lot that was mapped yesterday and out of my car on the street that has been mapped i get nothing. I tried cycling into airplane mode and power cycling the phone nothing. I was able to pick up signal along belcher rd but was only a bar or 2 and slow speeds. Maybe i have a faulty iphone5

This is partially true. I read in another post somewhere that the iPhone is a bit more picky with when it will allow an LTE connection. If it senses that the signal is too weak, it will go to 3G instead.

  2. Nice. I'll go by the other supposed Brandon tower tomorrow to see if it has been turned on as well and I'll let you know as early as possible so you can map if you want.

The other anticipated Brandon area tower is around 1221 N. Valrico Rd, as far as I can tell.

  3. I'm getting the signal over in my neighborhood (Bloomingdale West). I seem to drop back to 3G whenever I put my iPhone in my pocket. This must be due to its relatively weak ability to pick up LTE signals (compared to the GS3). I have a solid two bars, which translates to -106 to -111 using *3001#12345#*. But I have no idea how iPhone signal strength translates to conventional LTE signal strength.

  4. By the Walmart on the corner there?

Yeah, but not the tower in that parking lot, though. It's about a mile south of there off of Bell Shoals. The tower is actually in a field that's not really accessible from the road. Its formal address is 4717 Rockingchair Drive.

  5. Anyone know the site or seen it completed at all? Wildman said he was in Valrico today. Same area right

Yeah. The area is awkward... On one side it's technically Brandon (South) but across the street is Valrico. Lithia and Fishhawk Ranch are around the corner.

  6. Going back to the anticipated Tampa schedule, it looks like Brandon's getting just a few towers at launch. Luckily for me, there's a tower slated for launch right by me on Bell Shoals. But for now, we can only live vicariously through our friends in Pinellas and the northern Tampa 'burbs.
