  1. Thanks, I'll look for the download & instructions (sure I can find it somewhere), but if anyone has it, please go ahead & post :)

I did try one more factory reset last night.  Seemed to help for a few min, but started freezing again before I did anything other than just update various standard apps included.

  2. HELP!

Sometime after updating my LG G2 with the Spark Update, my pull down menu will sometimes freeze for a very long time (maybe 30 seconds).  Sometimes it works just fine, but other times it just gets stuck.  I tried a hard reset (factory reset) a few times, but it still freezes way too much.  I will be calling LG, but didn't know if anyone else had any similar issues.

I have tried a google search & search in this forum, but didn't find anything.

    Any Help?

  3. it has to be I updated 2 store g2s and mine and by friends g2 didnt change while they did

I had manually enabled my bands prior to the update, but then before I applied the update, I disabled Band 41 & band 26.  After the Spark update (only re-booted once), checked & the bands were NOT enabled, so I manually enabled them again.  I had tried finding Band 41 in North Atlanta suburbs (Cumming) prior to the Spark update, but never did.  Happened to be at Walmart last night after the update & was very surprised to see 35-40MBS download speeds.  Checked & found of course I was connected to Band 41!  What great speeds!

Strange coincidence that I got my Spark LTE at a Walmart Store?   ;)

  4. At least in my systems when we swap phones it automatically generates the sim id for us. To mess up a sim is sort of hard to do. The sim itself could be bad and not allow the phone to connect. Sim replacement has helped when phones like the HTC one do not get 4g or they don't detect their sim.

I had the same issue with my son's phone.  I had to call Sprint & give them the Serial # on the SIM card.  They said it didn't match what they had in the records for that phone.  They took the # I had & tied it to the account, which fixed the issue.

  5. I seem to have issues trying to take screen shots, but just got the update.  It says [Production]- LS980ZV7_01_to_ZV8_13.

Then says:  This system update will ensure your device is working at optimal performance with the Sprint network.  The Update will require that your phone is rebooted and it will not be available for emergency calls while installing the software."

  6. That was exactly my issue. After swapping phones, visits to Sprint stores, and multiple calls to Sprint support, I called back tonight and asked them to check my SIM card registration. They identified that it hadn't been registered correctly. Now I finally have 4G LTE!! Thanks for posting your solution!

Glad i was able to help!  I was very surprised that I got 2 phones with this issue.  Wonder if it is LG's fault or Sprint for mixing up the SIM #'s.

  7. Update:  I did swap my son's phone & it continued to have issues (no 4G and frequent "Cannot establish a Wireless Connection".  So just now swapped SIM's from his to mine.  I did see a 4G connection for a bit.  Oh My Phone (with his SIM), I started to get the "Cannot Establish a Wireless Connection" and no 4G).  However, both of us had issues with the SIM's swapped.  His said "Invalid Card" (or Invalid SIM, i forget which). & mine went  to the Self Service menu & told me to reboot, then told me to contact Sprint, so I just swapped them back.  It does seem to be SIM card related.  I'm going to take them into a Sprint store later.

Called Sprint.  Apparently they didn't have the right SIM card registered to his phone.  Got it registered correctly & it finally works correct.  So, if you know you should get 4G and are not in an area with eCSFB switching issues, then it maybe a SIM card registration issue.  I find it strange that 2 of the 3 phones I got had this issue, but my son's phone is working now.

  8. If all the settings are exactly the same, it would only leave a device problem. Also, there is no Band 41 in Harrisburg. Shentel has not worked out an arrangement with Sprint yet for Band 41 deployment. Most likely you just saw your device scan Band 41, not actually complete a connection.

maybe an issue with his sim card? Try taking it out and putting it back in. Only thing I can think of. Or swap sims and see what happens

So, can I just swap my SIM & his SIM?  Will my # then be on his phone & his on mine?  I assume so, but have not used SIM cards much as Sprint phones normally don't have them & I have always been with Sprint.

Thanks.. didn't see your reply as I was typing a follow up.  Yes, the  Band 41 was only very temporary, but it was while I was looking at the LTE Debug screen.  I forget exactly where, but it could have been a fluke.  As for the phone, it is VERY strange that now his new phone (Just swapped tonight) is doing the same thing as his previous phone.  As described, other than just not getting 4GLTE, it frequently drops connection completely.  I'll follow up with Sprint tomorrow & if I have to try swapping it again.

  11. Got my G2 a few weeks ago.  I get normal Band 25 ok & have good speeds.  Bought my Son a G2 Black Friday Weekend while in PA.  His will not connect to any LTE.  We both have it set to "Global".  I do have my MSL Code & changed mine to enable all bands (but only got Band 41 for a brief moment while near Harrisburg PA).  Why would his not connect to LTE at all, while mine does (same location, same Preferred Network mode).  Any thoughts?   I'm going to pull his MSL & enable all bands, but that should not be the issue.

Ok, I called Sprint & talked to a Tech.  Advised I had tried updating PRL, Profile, etc., changed the LTE Mode from Global to LTE/CDMA & Back.  Both of us in the same location.  I get LTE, he doesn't.  Also his phone will loose everything (Data, Cell reception, etc) and it will say "Cannot establish a wireless connection".  His phone does this frequently, reconnects to 3g, but never 4G.  He said there have been other reports of similar issues.  Took it back to Best Buy & did a swap to a totally new phone.. but it still does the same thing.  I'll contact Sprint again tomorrow, but how can we have got 2 bad phones?  & How can it be the network if my phone works fine, but his doesn't?

    Any suggestions?

  13. Yes, I mean I only get connected to band 25. I get those two bands confused... Sorry for the double post.  I mean that I'm only connecting to Band 25, not Band 41 (and definitly not Band 26) in ATL (at least where I have been here since I got the phone, which is mostly North ATL Suburbs).

  14. So, can anyone confirm if the ATL area should have band 41? I thought I did, but checking ##debug# shows me connected to only band 26 even though I have changed my LTE priority via ##data#.... Is it not live yet?

  15. Did some searching & found that others have had the same issue (on Verizon Model) and apparently the Gmail 4.6 update caused it & it may be when using the Gmail Lock Screen widget.  I did happen to install that today & think that is when the problems started.  I uninstalled the latest Gmail update & will see what happens.  I may also update back to 4.6 and remove the Gmail Lock screen widget.

  16. Ok, I have had my phone force re-boot at least 5 times in the past day.  It happens after I double tap to turn on & then swipe to unlock the lock screen.  Has this happened to anyone else?  I have not rooted yet.  Only changed my LTE preferences with my MSL a few times.

  17. I also used a different line for upgrade eligibility. I'm curious if that will affect the gift card eligibility if the phone is activated on a different line. I guess we will see. My G2 is scheduled for delivery on the 19th.

I wonder too... I had also signed up for the Phone Freedom back in Feb & was told I should qualify for both $50 GC's.  When I activated, I asked the rep about the Phone Freedom GC.  He said he seemed to have issues due to the upgrade from a different line. & passed me to someone else to check.  I then got disconnected from them & had to call again... Like I said the whole activation was a pain, but I did ask a few times about the GC's.  The last rep said they were going to put in an inquiry.  I will wait a few weeks & see.  Be sure to ask about the GC.  Not sure if you had signed up for the Phone Freedom too.

  18. FYI, finally got my G2 from Bestbuy.com Friday.  Was a huge pain to activate (probably because I used a different line for upgrade eligibility), but finally got it working. I have purchased in one specific Best Buy store several times with no issues, probably won't do online again.  Called Sprint Saturday to get my MSL.  They asked if I was having problems & I said, no, I just wanted to tinker with my phone & they gave it to me no issues (I have been with sprint 12 years). Got LTE right out of the box, but "normal Speeds" compared to my EVO 4GLTE.  Switched my LTE settings & tried a few speed Tests.  In Cumming GA, I got about 19Mbps down 3.6 up when I had both 26 & 41 enabled.  Switched to 41 only & only got 6.7 down & 3.7 up (this was outside, but same general location).  Switched back to both & got 16 up 2.2 down.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the phone and still learning things.  My first charge lasted 24 hours with considerable useage.
