Forgive me if this is a stupid question, i looked on my iphone and i'm on band 25 which i believe is LTE 1900, but do we not know for sure yet if the 5c/5s support the band 26 LTE 800?
That article tends to indicate that the 5c/5s variant for sprint does in fact support the bands for 800mhz LTE. Can anyone confirm?
Yes it does.
800/1900
Not 25/2600

Thanks BR. That is up near me.

I don't yet have an LTE phone. It's Wimax, which isn't going to help.
I'm off contract and thinking of getting new phones.
I've been optimistic along with everyone else, patiently waiting with delay after delay.
I don't have an issue with resigning as long as things are expected to work.
I'll be happy with getting 5 megs--it's usable.
The .01-.50 I'm getting now isn't.

Thanks for the replies.
If Sprint's LTE in other towns that are working are nice, that gives me a little more patience to renew my contract here (since I could use a new phone) and wait for our towers to be turned on.
The wait continues to be painful, though, as all of you know.
-
Hey guys.
I'm currently out of contract, and have some decisions to make.
Have any of you travelled to cities that have LTE turned on?
What's the service like and what kind of speeds were you getting.
It might help to know what possibly to expect once things get moving here.
Thanks.

I remember waiting in lines at 3am on Black Friday for door deals at certain stores.
That was a long time ago.
It's just not worth it anymore.
I've been on Android forever, and I'm moving to the dark side Friday, if I can get hold of one.

Yes, but based on threads here, we already know what to think of New Yawkers...
AJ
Yes, New Yawkews.

Just curious, do people still line up at Apple stores and ATT stores overnight just to buy the iPhone on launch day? If so, anyone of you guys planning to get the iPhone 5S planning to line up tomorrow night?
They started in N.Y. before Tuesday.
-
Well, recently there were numbers thrown around that around one-fourth of the towers were to be complete by mid-November with complete coverage by the end of next summer.
Is that wishful thinking at this point???

That delicious carrot seems so close to my face.
That carrot has been waving in the face of Phoenix for years now.
It's been so long, it rotted a long time ago...

Sprint uses 1900 for 1x, EVDO, and, now, LTE in the PHX market. There are a couple 2600 WiMax protection sites in the valley, though.
Before long, Sprint will also start deploying LTE on 800 and 2500/2600 as well.
Thanks!
So the LTE we see on Sensorly now is 1900?
-
I've been reading a lot recently about LTE frequencies--800 vs.1900 vs. 2600.
Can someone here enlighten me with what frequencies we currently have here in Phoenix (I believe it's the useless 2600 WiMax), and which new ones are currently being added?
Thanks.

im sorry i forgot the /sarcasm
and i was talking about the backhaul providers not sprint
sorry
-
i think everyone on sprint in phoenix metro mega plex should call cox and century link and start complaining about the lack of back haul
Unfortunately, it won't help.
I've had multiple open tickets in the last 3 months trying to get better data service in my home neighborhood.
They send me an email saying their techs said the tower by my house is working as intended, and I'm getting 0.2 down.
They expect us to accept that as the standard.
I'm trying to be patient and see what happens over the next month or so.
Two of the people on my shared service want iPhone5S when released next month, and I hope we get some useful updates prior to that.
-
I agree. I'd give it another month or two and see if this glacieric LTE deployment pace starts to pick up speed.
Still seems weird we got 2 sited last week and then nothing. What did the Lte workers do the rest of the week? Go golfing?
No. It's way too hot for that.

Well, like I said earlier today, my contract is up and I'm getting a lot of pressure from the other users on my shared account to switch.
I'm leaning towards a leap of faith and staying with Sprint, getting new phones which 2 of us need, and hoping for better data service within the next 6 months.
I just don't know yet.

Well it would be rare for him to get 50mb down on vzw in the valley these days. Most people I know with lte phone with them are having speed issues with them (I am mainly in the east side though). In any case sprint will be 3-6 months before lte ubiquitus through the valley. So there os that.
-
I would be happy with a solid 20/10
I would be happy just to update my software and stream the occasional video. What speeds are fast enough for that? 1-2 megs?
-
I'm really curious about my locale.
If anyone out there with an LTE phone could get 3G & LTE speedtests up North, where the 51 meets the 101 if you happen to be passing by, I'd appreciate it.
I'm out of contract right now, and I'll need to decide soon what my plans are.
My son on big red "V" keeps bragging about his 50 megs down, while I can't even get online with my 0.3 megs down.
I really want to stay with "S" and not give up my unlimited, but it's still unusable.
Thanks.
-
To those who responded to my question, thanks.
My confusion was on their dropdown where it says 4G, not LTE. I know there's a separate WiMax dropdown, but wanted to confirm that they implied LTE when they say 4G.

The Sensorly online maps are reading "4G" in purple. It doesn't specify if it's WiMax (which has maybe 1-2 towers) or LTE.
Is it reading LTE?
-
I, too, am waiting patiently.
Frustrating.
If NV ever gets ramped up, that would be a huge improvement.

Can someone explain what benefit this would be or how things interplay with Dish's involvement?
