  1. I don't yet have an LTE phone. It's Wimax, which isn't going to help. I'm off contract and thinking of getting new phones. I've been optimistic along with everyone else, patiently waiting with delay after delay. I don't have an issue with resigning as long as things are expected to work. I'll be happy with getting 5 megs--it's usable. The .01-.50 I'm getting now isn't.
  2. Thanks for the replies. If Sprint's LTE in other towns that are working are nice, that gives me a little more patience to renew my contract here (since I could use a new phone) and wait for our towers to be turned on. The wait continues to be painful, though, as all of you know.
  3. Hey guys. I'm currently out of contract, and have some decisions to make. Have any of you travelled to cities that have LTE turned on? What's the service like and what kind of speeds were you getting. It might help to know what possibly to expect once things get moving here. Thanks.
  4. I remember waiting in lines at 3am on Black Friday for door deals at certain stores. That was a long time ago. It's just not worth it anymore. I've been on Android forever, and I'm moving to the dark side Friday, if I can get hold of one.
  5. Well, recently there were numbers thrown around that around one-fourth of the towers were to be complete by mid-November with complete coverage by the end of next summer. Is that wishful thinking at this point???
  6. That carrot has been waving in the face of Phoenix for years now. It's been so long, it rotted a long time ago...
  7. I've been reading a lot recently about LTE frequencies--800 vs.1900 vs. 2600. Can someone here enlighten me with what frequencies we currently have here in Phoenix (I believe it's the useless 2600 WiMax), and which new ones are currently being added? Thanks.
  8. Unfortunately, it won't help. I've had multiple open tickets in the last 3 months trying to get better data service in my home neighborhood. They send me an email saying their techs said the tower by my house is working as intended, and I'm getting 0.2 down. They expect us to accept that as the standard. I'm trying to be patient and see what happens over the next month or so. Two of the people on my shared service want iPhone5S when released next month, and I hope we get some useful updates prior to that.
  9. Well, like I said earlier today, my contract is up and I'm getting a lot of pressure from the other users on my shared account to switch. I'm leaning towards a leap of faith and staying with Sprint, getting new phones which 2 of us need, and hoping for better data service within the next 6 months. I just don't know yet.
  10. I would be happy just to update my software and stream the occasional video. What speeds are fast enough for that? 1-2 megs?
  11. I'm really curious about my locale. If anyone out there with an LTE phone could get 3G & LTE speedtests up North, where the 51 meets the 101 if you happen to be passing by, I'd appreciate it. I'm out of contract right now, and I'll need to decide soon what my plans are. My son on big red "V" keeps bragging about his 50 megs down, while I can't even get online with my 0.3 megs down. I really want to stay with "S" and not give up my unlimited, but it's still unusable. Thanks.
  12. To those who responded to my question, thanks. My confusion was on their dropdown where it says 4G, not LTE. I know there's a separate WiMax dropdown, but wanted to confirm that they implied LTE when they say 4G.
  13. The Sensorly online maps are reading "4G" in purple. It doesn't specify if it's WiMax (which has maybe 1-2 towers) or LTE. Is it reading LTE?
  14. I, too, am waiting patiently. Frustrating. If NV ever gets ramped up, that would be a huge improvement.
  15. http://www.engadget.com/2012/08/10/dish-clearwire-debt-purchase-rumor/ Can someone explain what benefit this would be or how things interplay with Dish's involvement?
