  1. Suppose it could have been, but I take that exit everyday of the week and it's the first time I've seen it on LTE there.  And it held until I passed Rothchild's on Kingston Pike.

About 2 or 3 weeks ago I was at Tire Barn in that area.  I would see LTE pop up on my phone if I was standing in one place, but it wouldn't seem to work.  Walk over to my car to leave and it would be back on 3G.

Not sure what tower this might be.  I'll try and keep an eye on the phone as I drive around today.  Wasn't really expecting it yesterday so no idea where it switched coming from downtown on I-40.

I'm trying to find out if anything was accepted this week.  I've got a contact with access to GLANCE and that info.

  2. Hey Greg -  Someone pointed it out earlier, but Sensorly.com maps are going to be much more accurate in most cases.  They aren't perfect, but you can get a sense of what's been captured on a real device in the field.  Check it out and map some in the future if you discover new places.

Nashville isn't completely covered, but there's a good bit of LTE around much of Nashville and down towards Murfreesboro.

  3. You were getting the tower near the end L&N Station. Children's is just about the limit in that direction. I've started getting the LTE signal when pulling off 40 onto Alcoa Hwy. But, then I lose it as I exit onto Kingston Pike / Cumberland. Tower seems to have a decent reach at the moment.

Also, just fyi, signal bars don't mean anything in relation to LTE. You'll need to check in settings for signal strength. Pretty sure this is accurate but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

  4. Tower on Wrights Ferry Rd near Topside and Pellissippi is up and running LTE. Speedtest'ed at 17M when I drove by it on my way home. Not a ton of coverage, but nice to see one so close to Knoxville finally.

I started up Sensorly and started a trip when I pulled onto Alcoa Hwy from John Sevier. Cut it off after I lost 4G. I took Old Topside so I'm not sure if the signal actually reaches Topside yet. The info isn't showing up on Sensorly so either I did it wrong, or it'll show up sometime soon.

I'll be on Topside Monday and will run Sensorly again.

  5. Good to hear they are out there working. The 3 or 4 visible towers I pass each morning are still without NV equipment. But, I also figure that is one of the last pieces to finishing a tower....

Hope they start turning some one very soon.

I've been told there's a tower or two in Farragut that is very close as well. This same person told me 4 months ago that work was going to start in Nashville and the tri-cities and then converge on Knoxville followed by Chatt. He's been accurate so far.

  6. You'll find it in your network settings. New Samsungs are settings > (wireless/network) More settings > Mobile Networks.

Click on it and it will let you disable.

In case you aren't familiar with it, all it does and keep switching on your WIFI and trying to connect to save strain on the network and probably give you a better experience. But, for testing signal, etc. it's a must to turn it off.
