  1. Suppose it could have been, but I take that exit everyday of the week and it's the first time I've seen it on LTE there. And it held until I passed Rothchild's on Kingston Pike. About 2 or 3 weeks ago I was at Tire Barn in that area. I would see LTE pop up on my phone if I was standing in one place, but it wouldn't seem to work. Walk over to my car to leave and it would be back on 3G. Not sure what tower this might be. I'll try and keep an eye on the phone as I drive around today. Wasn't really expecting it yesterday so no idea where it switched coming from downtown on I-40. I'm trying to find out if anything was accepted this week. I've got a contact with access to GLANCE and that info.
  2. Tower near Walker Springs in Knoxville was on today. Yesterday, I had 3G sitting at the light in front of Pilot at the exit. This evening, both times I exited there I was on LTE. I've had LTE in this area before but it was basically unusable and gone the next day. Hopefully it stays on this time.
  3. If you want to add to the online maps, turn on your gps, launch the app, and select Map Trip, then hit Start.
  4. Hey Greg - Someone pointed it out earlier, but Sensorly.com maps are going to be much more accurate in most cases. They aren't perfect, but you can get a sense of what's been captured on a real device in the field. Check it out and map some in the future if you discover new places. Nashville isn't completely covered, but there's a good bit of LTE around much of Nashville and down towards Murfreesboro.
  5. Looking at Sensorly it appears a tower at Campbell Station was turned on in the last couple days. Doesn't appear on Roberts reports. Perhaps it's in his next update.
  6. Not until you said something. That's strange. When did you first see it? btw, I was on Alcoa Hwy across from Hardees near UT Hospital last night. I was getting 30+ on LTE inside the bar. That new tower appears to be rocking right now.
  7. Cool. Haven't run their stuff in awhile. Thanks for posting that.
  8. You were getting the tower near the end L&N Station. Children's is just about the limit in that direction. I've started getting the LTE signal when pulling off 40 onto Alcoa Hwy. But, then I lose it as I exit onto Kingston Pike / Cumberland. Tower seems to have a decent reach at the moment. Also, just fyi, signal bars don't mean anything in relation to LTE. You'll need to check in settings for signal strength. Pretty sure this is accurate but someone correct me if I'm wrong.
  9. Trust me, he doesn't get daily emails. And the only time one of the update emails had newer info than Robert was when he was out of town. I also work for sprint in this market.
  10. 4g isn't reaching the strip for the most part. The actual tower is next to L&N Station. It is up and running.
  11. No problem here getting 4g downtown. Sitting on Cumberland waiting to turn onto Henley and get on the interstate I got a speed test of 18mb down and 5 up. Held it until I got on the interstate and it dropped after the Alcoa Hwy exit heading back to west knoxville. This was at 6pm Sunday.
  12. Wonder if Sprint ever double checks the spelling of a city. Pssst: It's Greeneville, the only one in the country with an extra E.
  13. Robert, if it wasn't for your update I never would have checked that spot. Hopefully it shows on Sensorly and I'll continue hitting Knoxville spots as you post them. Thanks for the site and all your work.
  14. Tower on Wrights Ferry Rd near Topside and Pellissippi is up and running LTE. Speedtest'ed at 17M when I drove by it on my way home. Not a ton of coverage, but nice to see one so close to Knoxville finally. I started up Sensorly and started a trip when I pulled onto Alcoa Hwy from John Sevier. Cut it off after I lost 4G. I took Old Topside so I'm not sure if the signal actually reaches Topside yet. The info isn't showing up on Sensorly so either I did it wrong, or it'll show up sometime soon. I'll be on Topside Monday and will run Sensorly again.
  15. Good to hear they are out there working. The 3 or 4 visible towers I pass each morning are still without NV equipment. But, I also figure that is one of the last pieces to finishing a tower.... Hope they start turning some one very soon. I've been told there's a tower or two in Farragut that is very close as well. This same person told me 4 months ago that work was going to start in Nashville and the tri-cities and then converge on Knoxville followed by Chatt. He's been accurate so far.
  16. The Greeneville tower was accepted a couple days ago along with one near Kingsport. Robert had them posted in the completed towers thread.
  17. I'm sure this has been asked and covered, but what are typical turnaround times from equipment going up on the tower and a usable LTE signal being broadcast? Days? Couple weeks?
  18. I drive around West Knoxville a good bit. I don't think I've spotted any towers yet with Sprint LTE equipment or what I think may be LTE. Looked at a few near downtown west today on my way home. If any change, I'll post here.
  19. You'll find it in your network settings. New Samsungs are settings > (wireless/network) More settings > Mobile Networks. Click on it and it will let you disable. In case you aren't familiar with it, all it does and keep switching on your WIFI and trying to connect to save strain on the network and probably give you a better experience. But, for testing signal, etc. it's a must to turn it off.
