  1. Are you using a Triband phone? If you are using a single band LTE device (B25), you cannot run faster than 37.5Mbps. To get 50Mbps+, you have to be on a B41 site with upgraded backhaul. B41 is only available to Triband LTE devices.

    Robert

Yes i am on a triband phone i have the lg g flex and i just posted a pic showing im connected to band 41 maybe the speeds im getting is because of the range of the tower i was guessing idk like theres 2 towers im between my job is located on 28street NW and 5th avenue one tower is at about 36street and 4th avenue and the other tower is at 20th street and about 6th avenue so both are not far away from me but i dont know how the range and such works.

  2. Those speeds are only available on the Band 41. You are connected to Band 25, which maxes out in the 30s. Sounds like you are getting a near ideal signal as is, doesn't get much better than that.

No sir negative im connected to band 41 always been and i have my flex at band 41 being the #1 priority heres a pic i just took to show you plus when im on band 25 i dont get those speeds i get speeds from 1~3mbps when im on band 25 sometimes even worst.post-6959-139292165296_thumb.jpg

  3. If you've never received 50-60Mbps from those sites, they do not have upgraded backhaul, yet. An unburdened legacy WiMax backhaul can run even 20-40Mbps in ideal situations. If you're finding highly variable B41 speeds, you're on legacy backhaul. Also, in the Dallas area, Clearwire used a lot of long chain microwave. This can cause a lot of variability in performance. Especially at times when there are a lot of WiMax home ISP users online stressing the backhaul. Like evenings. If you were far away from the primary microwave/fiber interface and had a lot of home users along the MW chain (even if not a single one on your site) and the speeds would bog down.Sprint is upgrading the Clearwire network backhaul to better support B41 speeds. In the case of long string microwave, it often involves bringing fiber to all the connected sites. As there are too many sites in the chain for an ultra high speed solution to be consistent at all the sites. You may even find the legacy backhaul will get even worse at peak times before things get consistently good at each site with upgraded backhaul.Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro

So robert for instance my job is between 2 sprint towers in the Miami area both says 3g/4g im not sure which one my device is connected since both are not far away from me but i notice im pulling from 20~30mbps and well the upload speed is crap from 2~6mbps i've never gotten to 50~60mbps so does that mean that the backhauls hasnt been upgraded yet even if my distance isn't next to the tower? I'm gonna try and visit both towers after work and run some test see if i would see higher speeds.

  4. The battery this phone has is a beast i also love the idle time on this even with sync, all gestures and other features and things all on the battery on idle is a beast compare to my old phones which would be draining if i had all the same features on.

  5. I can tell you that Band 25 activations have slowed way down in this market. Only a handful since the first of the year. All the easy to upgrade sites are done. The difficult ones will happen one at time over a long period of time.

If you have a Triband device, that's your best bet for cohesive LTE coverage. They already have a lot and a lot more scheduled this half of the year.

Robert how bout band 26? Is that the 800mhz and is some sites active in this market?

  6. Curious about the Boca Raton area. I will be traveling there soon. I see from NV sites complete its a mix of LTE active towers, but also quite a few legacy sites still; Yamato Road, Clint Moore, near FAU, Hillsboro Blvd in Deerfield, etc. So is the South Florida area saturated with LTE? How are your speeds on B25 (Im not Tri band). Are you guys still seeing daily and weekly LTE activations on the legacy towers or has the slowed?

Not sure about deep down south but im at work right now and just took this speedtest and did confirm that im connected to band 41.post-6959-139230811616_thumb.jpg

  7. hey how are you liking it so far???

I have the note 2, and while i am happy as pie with it....i am always looking for what i would like next...

i wont worry about it to much, till i know that 41 is FULLY working on the phones around here, and we get a good dose of 26 launched...

is the screen much smaller/different?? how about short cuts and what not of sammy vs lg

Hey sup well i love the phone i mean i see what alot of folks mean about the screen not being that great compare to the note 3 and g2 as i held them side by side but i didn't care it didn't bother me as much as i knew that this was something new that lg is trying out with the P-Oled screen thats why i think it looks the way it looks i dont think ts the 720p resolution.

I came from the note 2 i had no regrets plus i wanted something different for a change instead of a sammy phone the phone itself is really snappy battery life is very nice i love watching movies and videos on this device the curve screen really makes a difference but i think you should go to the store and just chilled there and play with one see if you would like it or not that's what i did for about an hour since it was full in the store then i just decided to get it plus i have 14 days to return it but i really enjoy this phone so im sticking it out till the note 4 or till the next g flex 2 which i know would be a better improvement.

  8. Wow that is awesome. Where in Miami did you do those speedtests?

Sent from my HTC EVO 4G LTE

Well the 40mbps was at a sprint store on biscayne and 22st near the publix. Today i had disable band 26 and 25 and left band 41 as my priority and i was getting 40mbps at work which is only about 10 minutes from my house which is lovely lol i live around 7th ave and like 28th st not sure how close is a tower around there.

  9. Miami area has been shut out of band 26 and 800 voice until rebranding is complete. Anywhere within 80 miles of Miami is not allowed to use 800 lte or voice for the time being. There is some band 41 around though since Miami has launched as a Spark city.

Wow that sucks badly did not know that wonder how long that would take i just got this g flex lastnight even though im getting good speed compare to my note 2 but its a bummer hearing about band 26.

  10. band 41 is clearwire 2500/2600 , band 26 is the 800, and 25 is 1900

Aahhh ok thanks mate well i just checked and my stock priority band came as priority band 1= 25, band 2= 26, and band 3= 41 is there anyway i can find out if Miami has towers active with band 26 and 41 before i make changes?

  11. Hey guys can anyone tell me which band is 26? Im going to try and change the priorities on the band but i only know that band 41 is the 800mhz correct? But im not sure which one is the other two but i do want to test the other bands out i live in Miami which is one of the major cities so im pretty sure spark should be active out here.

  12. Well guys I made the switch to the LG G Flex phone from the Note 2 and spark is active in Miami. While I was waiting for me phone I did some speed test at the sprint store using their demo and It was getting 37~41mpbs which is good enough now inside my apartment I'm getting 16~19mbps which is good enough for me compare to my note 2 on a single band getting about 2mbps but I'm very happy that sprint is actually improving their network.

  13. I have a nexus 5 but last I heard the phone would get a update pushed by sprint to activate spark and two, I haven't seen/heard spark being active anywhere yet... Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk 4

I see that's weird thought I saw that they did on XDA but well I know some folks that bypass the waiting and just did it themselves enabled both bands easy if you can get your msl number.

  14. Anyone here in Miami has any of the sprint spark phone that won't mind showing me some speed test? I'm debating on buying the new LG G flex but would like to see how is the sprint spark in Miami which is one of the reason of getting the phone beside it being a beast of a phone.

  15. I'm willing to stick it out! Sprint is in the best position for the future, and they have planned ahead. Yea sometime I want to throw my 5s out the windows, yes today when learning of spark deployment going live but not for my iphone or any other phone I wanted to throw it out the window, but I can honestly say everyday I see improvement I travel all over dade frequently and have notice more consistent 3G speed. And I wish we had 800 deployed! But everyone has there downsides! And I'm never going to tmobile ! Except for the free 200mb a month for my tablet!

You said the keyword "future" I'm pretty everyone knows that but some just cant wait everyone uses there devices differently. If I was to stick it out I might as well trade in my high tech gadget phablet for a 1990s phone if all im going to be able to do is make calls and text I mean it really doesn't make no sense to have a nice piece of gadget if you cant use it to its full potential, not everyone is always around wifi heck it's embarrassing to pull out a nice gadget to show off the nice hd screens on a youtube video and all you get is buffering... the day when sprint is finally on top of their network which is in the FUTURE then thats when I'll be right back with them for now I rather go with a better choice in my area.

  16. The speeds on Tmobile are by far better than Sprint. Within the few week we went from a 5x5 network to 10x10. As far as coverage it's been great through Miami and Fort Lauderdale area with a few exception of a few spots where you'll need wifi calling. I never had much of a coverage issue with Sprint but as mentioned above I had poor speeds even on LTE. I expect Sprint will be much better though when LTE 800 is deployed

Ok see I wouldn't mind sacrificing a sprint coverage for tmobile speeds and wifi calling as to I barely used my phone much for talking I probably average about 90-100 minutes on my family plan with Sprint I'm more of a text person and browsing and such and well I cant wait for sprint any longer for their speeds to pickup plus they screwed the note 3 with no tri band or atleast dual band im not really an LG person and im already impatient having this note 2 for so long lol if anything when Sprint get it together then I'll just come back but it all depends I guess.

  17. Do we have to take a potshot at AJ though to make a point about T-Mobile?

I don't think anyone is doubting their coverage in places like Miami where they got lots of towers, spectrum, and DAS out of the MetroPCS merger. It's the rural places where their network goes to hell in a hand basket.

So big city places like miami and so on are is okay then? I mean I usually don't travel much and I'm only concern in having good speeds data in the area's where I'm always at tge most which is at work, home and jose marti gym on sundays lol that's about it but I might go tomorrow and try them out for 14 days see how it goes.

  18. For those of you that have moved to T-Mobile how is the coverage here in Miami? I've been wanting to get a note 3 but since sprint note 3 is single band that leaves me to move on to T-Mobile but I have no clue how good is the coverage and data here in Miami even though on their site it shows real good Coverage so for you guys that moved on are you happy with coverage and speed data?

  19. I made the mistake very early in deployment of picking up LTE and assuming it was coming from the closest 1 or 2 sites to me. In reality the signal was coming from a distant site. Don't assume you know which site the signal is coming from. Confirm it before making assumptions.

How can you tell which site your connected too is there an app for that?
