it is unsettling hearing these polar opposites views when it comes to rf performance. I have an m8 and would love an m9 if the rf is better. I just moved into a rural area when service is kind of spotty but sprint claims to have fair LTE coverage. Hoping the m9 might fix some of that.
-
any word of rf performance, especially compared to the m8 or nexus 5?

has anyone figured out how to fix the wifi calling APN sms/mms bug for third party messengers? I use google simple messenger app and cannot send or recieve sms/mms from it. Default app just fine but tried all the APNs listed in the app and none work? any thoughts? would love to use wifi calling for mms/sms with my house having such crappy service. Outside service is fine

I may and try to disable band 25 because 26 looks to be prevelant in my norcal area. I guess I need me mal for that. I asked Sprint like a month ago and they absolutely would not give it to me. I give it another try I guess

Has anyone figured out how to change the band priorities on the m8? Can you even do it on this phone? I just started getting band 26 and it's way better than 25 but 25 always muscles its way on top

one question i haven't seen answered..On my m7 i loved the beats equalization through my car stereo via bluetooth...with beats gone is there some other sort of eq going on? Is it just boom sound?

Ya...I know. I am thinking the same thing. Getting the phone from Amazon, and just living with the Gunmetal gray color.
I have a 30 day quote from gazelle for my one m7 for $115 plus a $50 amazon gift card this thing is practically free. Just really think the silver looks better...and sprint doesn't seem to be on board with anything other than grey and gold
-
damn this amazon $150 for m8 is too tempting. I would much prefer silver but I'm think of buying the gun metal, seeing if I can live with it for a week and either return or keep it.

so I took the plunge and upgraded to a premier sponsor so I could ogle the band 26 sites and noticed that my area is filled with the dreaded brown tdb dots. I have chatting online with sprint, tweeted sprint, talked to store employees and the reps when they were there and they all said LTE 800 within 3 months. How accurate have the time tables been on the Band 26 map?
-
I played around with both the grey and silver at a verizon store. The grey looks nice but felt too slippery and I have my m7 out of the case a lot at home. The silver just has such a nice sandblasted finish.
-
I wish i could get behind the gun metal grey. The silver looks much better imo

well they seemed pretty adamant that 1900 LTE was done in my area and "LTE optimizations" would be going on for the next 90 days and those include LTE 800. No BAND 41 in sight though. Here's hoping.
-
quick question /favor. I have been chatting up @sprintcare and asked them if and when I would start to see LTE 800 in my area (Petaluma, Ca 94954) and they surprisingly said this spring. I cannot afford to become a premiere sponsor yet and look at the maps for myself but could anyone who does have access just check and see it sprint is talking out their a## or not?
-
are there any band 41 sites going up that were not wimax to begin with? i'm in petaluma, ca (nothern ca) and there was never any wimax. Do i have a shot at getting band 41 ever? Also quick question is someone would be so kind. On the sponsors map every tower in my area except one or two are green...3G/4G/800..does the 800 just mean 800 voice or is that 800 LTE ready but not turned on yet? I and want to get the M8 in silver whenever sprint decides to make that happen.
-
So on my m7 I get lte signal at -110 dB at work. Fine until I use it then I get dropped to 3G which is abysmal. Is the m8 really about 10 db better? And is -100dB enough to keep 3G at bay?
-
So I have the m7 and always seem to be on the fringe of lte -115dB or no lte. The 3G is horrible mostly but my area seems to be popping with lte every tower has been converted and green in the map in the other forums. I attribute this to the m7s weak antenna. I want the M8 but only if I see a better LTE signal.
-
I can connect to LTE and maybe a few minutes later it will drop, it only ever had a -110 -120 db signal to begin with and that can achieve 5-10mbps which is more than I need on a phone but when I lose it and 3G kicks in back to .2kbps. If I am getting LTE it shouldn't be legacy equipment right? Also 1900mhz LTE sucks indoors. Without becoming a premier sponsor is there any info or city deployment list of LTE800? My contract is up in april and I might jump ship if it's going to be a long time before better coverage and LTE800
-
The town next to me is mostly green so I guess that's a thing. Hopefully it won't be to much longer. Is the horrid 3G service any indication that things are being worked on? Also is a green 800/3g/4g pin mean 800LTE as well? Any are there even any 800LTE sites working yet?
-
I really wish there was a way to determine if my area Petaluma, Ca 94954 is done with network vision and this is as good as it's going to get or if I will see substantial improvements in the (hopefully very) near future. We have some LTE and if and when it connects I get around 5mbps but ANY 3G is nothing above .5kbps. Sprint keeps telling me end of the year work will be done in my area and here it is and still crap. I have an HTC one. I have hopes that LTE800 will fix things but who knows when that will ever happen.
-
Well here's hoping 800mhz lte starts rolling soon like the end of the year and maybe I'll try out an iPhone 5c with band 26 and it will all be glorious. Just sucks now having unlimitimed data without being able to use it to it's fullest extent or even close to mediocore extent.
-
My 800 mhz voice on my ONE travels for days. I aM connected to a very far away tower. Would the lte 800 mhz distance be similar? If yes it would solve all my problems with my poor data signals since almost everywhere I go I appear to be on the fringe of lte signal with my ONE
-
But the iPhone 5c has band 26 800 mhz lte whereas the HTC done does not support that. I just was wondering if I get 800mhz voice does that equate to me being able to recieve 800 mhz lte as well?
-
Could very well be a stupid question but.....I currently have an HTC one and am thinking about switching to iPhone 5c since the ONE has horrible signal since 4.3 update and before and wife's iPhone perfect most of the time. Now with the ONE I can connect to 1x800 voice quite often but the ONE desnt have lte band 26. IPhone 5c does....does that mean that if I can pick up 1x800 voice now that these tower locations with spit out lte band 26 when it is turned "on" or does more work need to be done to enable lte 800. My current 1900 mhz lte signal sucks unless you are a block or two away from it (at least from the HTC ONE)
Really my question is can I expect to see lte 800 from this tower in the very near future or is it a long way off or is there any deployement list of cities? I'm in Petaluma ca 94954 btw.

One strange thing I have noticed in the past few weeks is how many sprint retail stores have opened up lately. Like 4-5. A few years about almost everyone around me closed down now they are popping up like crazy all at once. I wonder if softbanks cash influx has anything to do with this so we have a pshycial place to go to complain about our data speeds.

i have two lines and swap between the upgrades every year so selling my m8 for a m9 means something like a $40 cost to me. If the rf was a little better than it may be worth it...but now google screws everything up and does this project fi thing and that may solve all of my connection problems. now if only it wasn't the nexus 6 exclusively
