  1. Folks here seem to disagree on the need/desirability of SVDO or SVLTE. I would think a very common situation is using Navigation while using the speakerphone talking while driving. Without SVDO or SVLTE you would lose all navigation when you place a call? or do I misunderstand the issue?

Hell when im navigating in google maps on 3G and a call comes in I can still hear the directions in the ear piece while in a call even though i have no data connection.

  2. Sprint will tell you it's because of all the upgrades they are doing in the area. Or so they say.

Yup..that seems to be their go to reply these days..No matter what if it's signal related they says it's because of resent network vision upgrades being done on a near by tower..it's such BS and most people actually believe it.

  3. You don't need root for this one that I used. http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=2254578

As a side note, I changed my LTE Scan from 300 to 5 and drove into Gray today. I held 4G the entire time in Gray this time even while I was driving, unlike last time. I put the phone in my pocket and it went down to 3G. When I took it back out, it picked up 4G in 20 seconds. Not nearly as bad as it was before, although this is just 1 trip and is anecdotal evidence (also not raining this time either).

does adjusting to 5 have an ill effect on battery life?

  4. I couldn't resist and I couldn't pass down this deal.. Some one was selling the HTC One on craigslist for $425(already a great deal)..Sold him one of my Evo LTE's($175) and got his one for $250..Don't know why he was looking for an Evo so bad but the ESN is clean on this HTC One and its been in service and running now for the passed 4 hours..So im back on the One and my upgrade is still intact and i didn't have to extend for another 2 years..I can prob. deal with the 4G issues I was having a little better now.

  5. Just out of curiosity, did you try using a case? I hope that you get to use this phone again in the future. :)

    -Luis

Yeah. Phone has been in a case since hour 1 of owning the device. I've also tried with out the case as well. I tried everything I could to be able to keep the One and today is my 1st day back to work with out it and although I have better 4G coverage with this Note 2 I'm kind of over it ya know.

  6. Well,i had to return it...I'll keep my eye on better LTE coverage in the state(maybe the next 4-5 months) and pick up the One again..Such a fantastic phone and can't wait to hopefully use it again..Until then im stuck with this Note II which now feels gigantic again after 8 days with the One.

  7. By chance, what hardware version do you have?

    Hardware version is 004

I wont take an S4 even if they offer it to me..I have a Note II which was fine before i even got the One..But man the One was/is so smooth..And I hate to say it but not having the stupid controller app is going to suck..That thing was awesome.

  8. Are you holding it in your left hand by any chance?

Left hand, right hand,Lobster claw holding it with my thumb and index finger on the sides..Doesn't matter how I hold it but as soon as it starts to do anything with data it will fall back to 3G..It's so hard to actually have this thing back to stock and ready to bring back in the morning..It sure is one heck of a phone from HTC..I just cant risk 2 years and gamble on better LTE Coverage at 1900 to fix it..If i hear or see anything of an update that's made to resolve this issue i will surely buy it again..Until then it's back to the Note 2

  9. LTE comparison between EVO (lack of lte) LTE , SSGS3, AND HTC ONE

all done at same location within a few cm

EVO lte= no 4g, 3g only (roaming at times LOL )

    SSGS 3: 4g = 112dBm

HTC ONE: 4G= 116dBm (picked phone up, 4g dropped to 3g, sat it back down, 4g back on after a few min) <_<

***Will note that the speeds between the s3 and htc one were within .35mbps, even with lower signal ***

*all same tower and sector as far as i could tell*

same here man...Im trying to look for as much information as I can on this issue with 4G dropping back to 3G..Can this be fixed with a software update or is it simply the nature of this phone due to hardware? My Note II will hold 4G in the same spots my HTC One will lose it..I only have a few days left in my 14 to return this phone..But im getting aggravated seeing 4G drop consistently all day..If 3G wasn't so bad I wouldn't care..Hope to get any info on this with you guys.
