In LA Metro I've noticed several Clear sites that duplicated Sprint B41 have been decommissioned recently. All Clear gear on the tower racks have been removed from those sites.
Hawaii here, none of the clear equipment has been decommissioned yet, I even see some Nextel sites :/

Marcelo mentioned awhile back they don't want to give away their playbook so I'm not surprised we haven't heard much.
NGN is happening, check out the NYC thread in the market section looks like they're getting it good

eh.. The 2.5 Ghz spectrum holding sprint has is pretty much the Band 12/26 of 5G lol
-
Lol why did you port out in the first place?
Was tired of getting 3G at work, least it was usable though

I ported out of Sprint to AT&T now I regret it so much data speeds are much slower, latency much higher and i'm getting frequent Network Communication issues on good signal on Speedtest
Currently on the phone porting back

I'm not a Reddit person so I decided to give it a try today. I search for each carriers forums and I get to the tmobile forum and I see a topic when sprint goes bankrupt....I just closed out the app and deleted it. Can someone please explain to me as to why T-Mobile diehards are so pressed on Sprint going out of business? They fail to realize if Sprint goes T-Mobile is pretty much over as well. They keep each other afloat.

Tunnel vision, they're so blind to see if Sprint goes out of business there'll only be three major national carriers causing price hikes. Almost no competition

Anyone spot any NGN activity?
Took this speed test today at Queen K inside of T-Mobile

It's likely partially so they can boast about another wide band market or whatever term they are abusing and partially due to how slowly backhaul gets done. They probably aren't sending enough campaign donations to our esteemed mayor. Could be worse, we could have big islands mayor.
The good news is we have plenty to refarm still and 700mhz on the way plus a 10x10 of aws3 at some point. They just need backhaul. It will be interesting to see how they compare against sprint now we have finally gotten some sprint love.
Didn't Sprint get ahold of another 5Mhz of PCS in Maui/Ohau? That'll be interesting to see when maui gets 3xCA B41 and 10x10Mhz of B25
-
West maui got it as well but no bump in backhaul lol. Speeds are alright on west maui, central was poor today, the WiFi in queen k was faster than tmo. Another reason to dislike going to 'the city'.
I don't understand T-Mobile at this point why even refarm if backhaul isn't available Q_Q
The cell site by Maui Market place behind the Savers building that cell site is doing piss poor on certain sectors And that thing looks like it's maxed out on sectors already.

So Central Maui got 15Mhz like 3 weeks ago.. Just re-checked my slow speed issues
Still present

Just found my step dad's old Replenish in a box. My parents both had them. Horribly slow, and horrible screen quality!
It is slow yep, but it's a pretty cool shrine

Shameless promotion here: but I've purchased a Samsung replenish and activated it on my Sprint account to see how it is today. This phone is pretty unique and I think it's a great burner phone to activate on RingPlus or another MVNO.
Short Review here:

I have a HTC one m9, and a iPhone 6s I must say the 6s RF performance seems better.
My m9 seems to love camping on Band 25/26 alot, while my iPhone is like a leech and instant clings to Band 41 the moment it's in range.

Seems there are quite a few people from Hawaii here on S4GRU. While I'm not sure if I'd be comfortable so far away from mainland, Hawaii looks very beautiful from what I've seen on photos and videos. It certainly is my preferred life far better than my own (considering my awful health, etc.) to be in a tropical area in a nice house with a private swimming pool and beach bar. Would be very nice.
Anyways, how is wireless reception there in Hawaii? I've seen images of a lot of hills and figure that having coverage there could be a challenge for carriers, other than in the larger city areas.
It's pretty good on both Sprint and T-Mobile if you want the absolute best in Hawaii Verizon is the champion for coverage here.
Cell density T-Mobile vs Sprint i'd say Sprint is more dense than T-Mobile

Central maui is finally 15x15 Mhz however it's still slow like a turd

Long story short, got a iPhone 5s on freedompop, its no longer active there. Need it to be activated on Sprint post-paid however the online activation tool and the store rep said the phone is for Sprint Prepaid.
Can I call customer care and request the phone to be moved off the Prepaid database into the postpaid database?

Sprint just kicked off a new sweepstakes:
Sprint Invites Customers to Join ‘Across the Nation Celebration’ Sweepstakes
Visit https://www.sprint.com/sprintnationsweeps to enter.
Interesting they're giving away the same car they use for Direct 2 You.
Sponsored by Fiat perhaps.

The only thing left that makes any sense is back haul cost or provisioning delay.
With sprint not having lte for a long time when tmobile did, plus tmobiles predatory pricing spring t probably lost a lot of subs which contributes to the state of both networks. Tmo are risking losing their gains if they don't get a site or two out by hana and speed up their backhaul. There's also a dead spot by canoes beach in wahikuli which makes little sense. Let's see where they go with this, Sprint's an attractive proposition these days.
Sprint is getting better and better with more PCS holdings they've gained in Hawaii the future is promising.

Fun times, flew into LAX (yuck) and lucky to get 1 mbps with a strong signal. Once away from LAX it got interesting, speed tests between 50 and 90 mbps. 20x20 lte basically everywhere which based on speed tests seems to be overkill at least once you get away from central LA and head south. I'm curious, back home we have 10x10, I'm wondering if they are holding off due to backhaul because they desperately need to transition more spectrum to lte in places like central Maui where lte crawls (sub 1mbps). No point refarming if each tower is only hooked up to a T3 or similar I guess. #SoTmobile
Tmo either seems to fly or suck. I can totally see why people love them and some people hate them. You go from flawless to useless and back again in 10 miles.
Central maui is still crawling for T-Mobile.. I don't know why they're holding up on refarming ASAP.
Sprint is blazing so far, I've been to Kehei, and Wailuku + Kahului solid 30+Mbps each time

Does anyone know what happens after the 2 years of savings on the 50% swicher offer?
-
Do you know if a lot of the sites you tested have second carriers live on too? Either way, those are pretty consistent!
More than likely they have the second carrier live.

Band 41 is pretty much sense now but still not really quite available in Wailuku... Yet
That said wherever I go and whatever what time, sprint has yet to disappoint me

DSU unlock what's the delay?
in General Topics
Posted
iPhone 6s from lease paid off remaining payments and purchase option. Requested unlock, they told me 48 hours. 48 hours later I call back since it isn't unlocked still and they tell me 48 hours again.
Isn't there some policy by the FCC where if Sprint hasn't unlocked your phone within 2 days of paying it off you can submit a complaint?
