FWIW, and FYI ... I went into Sprint the other day to return my Evo (mainly based on info gleaned from this thread!) IN THE STORE, there were 2 GS3's, which had a 4G signal. My Evo had no 4G. And there were 2 Evos in the store, ONE of which had 4G. The signal was weak -- LA is not 'on' yet -- but there you go. Ordering a GS3 from Amazon ($150)

Can anyone confirm that the Evo and the SG3 have the same hardware (radio/chipset/whatever) with regards to LTE? Because if so, from reading this thread, it sounds like eventually someone will be able to fix it -- whether HTC, Sprint, or the devs at xda (who I hold in high esteem!). The only reason I want to keep the Evo is for the f2.0 camera aperture ... but LTE is way more important.

I recently (12 days ago) upgraded to the Evo, and it's great. BUT, now I've discovered this and dozens of other threads in forums all over the web about how the Evo has a lame radio, especially not connecting/finding LTE. I don't have LTE in LA yet ... supposed to arrive by end of year ... so I have no way of testing. These complaints have scared me; should I exchange it for a Galaxy S3 while I still can? Would Sprint replace it later if my LTE connectivity sucks? Dang!
