I recommend the contracting the same twitter(Marci Carrie) as above and it will get forward to the network team at sprint

So I contacted Marci Carrie and she replied back immediately and referred the case to a technical service group which contacted me within 2-3 hours. They told me that there is a tower down being repaired and that might be causing my data speed issues. They opened a ticket and even though they have not called me to follow-up I am very happy to say service is much better today.

  2. Hello,

For the past few weeks I am getting abysmal speeds in the Loop area. I work specifically at the corner of Franklin and Jackson right by the Sears Tower. My speeds hover at 0.5MB up and down. This is beyond unacceptable. My cell phone is connected to a Band 41 antenna. The cell ID is 133794305. Any known issues in the area?

    Thank you in advance!

  3. This beyond frustrating! For the last couple of months LTE service drops for a few minutes at random time in the Chicago Loop area (right by the Willis Tower). When I check in the iphone engineering screen, the phone is latched to band 41 and antenna id 83. Any recent issues in the area? Thank you.

  4. I'm reporting it here because I'm sure it will get more attention than contacting Sprint directly. For more than 2 months I have noticed a problematic tower in the Chicago Loop area. It is a Band 41 tower  and its Physical Cell ID is 259. Sometimes I get a string signal from this tower but the internet connection is dead. Any way to report this to the real experts?

    Thank you,

  5. Anyone experiencing no LTE service in the Loop area since last week. It has been going on already for close to a week. Even though I get 4-5 bars with the LTE sign on, I don't have connection to the Internet. I am located right by the Willis Tower.

  6. So, I like to check in every once in awhile and ask anyone from the area who might be around here, what's the status of the Sprint network lately? Is it better, worse, same? I get the impression it's stagnant but I could be wrong.

The network is much much better lately although it seems my area still has not been optimized as I see a big variance in signal strength and also frequent changes in towers my phone connects. Lately I have been having an issue where my phone loses the LTE signal and drops to 1x and is never able to reconnect to either 3G or LTE. The only way I fix it is by turning airplane mode on and off on the phone and then it connects to the LTE signal immediately. I don't know if it is a phone issue or a network issue. I hope it is fixed soon.

  7. I've noticed the same thing on my 6S here in Seattle a lot ever since Sprint 26.1 came out (iOS 10.1). The phone seems to fall off LTE a lot quicker and I'm seeing an extraordinary amount of 1x. I have reported it to my contact at Sprint and he is having their device team take a look at it. Hopefully the issue will be resolved soon.

    Please keep us posted.

  8. While the phone is transmitting and receiving data I found it doesn't scan for other bands as often. Did it start after a software update on your iPhone?

It started happening after Apple rolled out ios 10.1. I'm still experiencing this issue. I just turn on airplane mode and turn it off again and it connects to LTE immediately.

  9. I still have some screenshots pending regarding carrier aggregation. I will get those this week.

However, I'm running into a different issue lately. Whenever I take my elevator in my building I lose the service signal (normal). As soon as I leave my building and start walking on the street I get 4-5 bars of signal but the service is 1x. It remains like that for the longest time. I have to go to airplane mode in the iphone and wait for 10 seconds. After I disable it then I am able to get an LTE signal. Has anyone noted this issue lately?

    Thank you,

  10. I do not know a lot about IPhones but I imagine there has to be some sort of field test mode, that may tell you if you are using CA.

It sounds a bit low for CA but I don't know how congested the site is.

There is a field test app that I use but I don't know how to interpret the numbers to confirm carrier aggregation

  11. Carrier aggregation is enabled and seems to be all over the place around here. It is only enabled on band 41 however. Are you connected to band 41 when you try the speed tests?

I'm currently connected to band 41 in a building right by the Sears Tower and I'm pulling 13 megs down. Is that ok for carrier aggregation considering I am in such a busy area?

  12. I live in the Chicago West Loop and I have a question for the techies here. I just bought the iPhone 7 Plus. I understand this phone is capable of using carrier aggregation technology. I have run various speed tests around my neighborhood and the speeds I get are similar to the speeds I had with the iPhone 6. Is carrier aggregation live in Chicago? Also, how do I know it is connecting to carrier aggregation? Is there any indication other than running a speed test?

    Thank you,
