    LG V30

I currently have the V20............the V30 has all of what I'm looking for with the enhanced quad DAC and improvements to the camera/video!

Hopefully Sprint has a good promo on the phone?

  1. ^^^^^^Cool, thanks for the quick response! I guess that makes sense since we have the auto pay already setup with the unlimited freedom plan with two lines. $20 isn't bad at all for unlimited data with 10 gigs of hotspot :) It would be for our kids to use when we're out and about in the car or somewhere else.

Yea it's a good deal through Sprint $100 off, but you have to keep it for the 2 years to obtain that final price of $100 with the $4 credit they give you monthly. So maybe I will look for it used on Ebay or Craigslist?

    Thanks for the feedback.

  2. I might grab one for my kids possibly,  but I was curious if this has CA on B41?

They are now for sale at Sprint for $199 with $100 off, so it's $4 a month for the tablet with the $25 mo for unlimited data with 10 gigs of hotspot.

Is this tablet still worth getting considering how old it is?

  3. Honestly the only thing that is holding me back from switching to Verizon is the fact that after the 2 year period is over for them crediting the "free phones" then I'll be on the hook for new phones, and that's if I go 2 years on the same phones that we currently have (V20 & S7 Edge).

Because right now 2 lines would be $140 + tax (same as what we're paying with Sprint) with 2 free phones.

  4. I went to the Verizon store yesterday to get a break down of my bill if I were to switch over with two lines.

    Here is the breakdown:

    - $100 for 2 lines unlimited talk/text/data (HD)/10 gigs hotspot tether

    - $  20 X 2 lines access fee = $40

    - $140 Total...............

The phone trade in for both phones would allow us to get the same 2 phones we have now (LG V20 & S7 Edge) for free. They said that you would get a credit every month for both phones on your bill for 24 months. So it would show the phone payment and credit zeroing it out for 24 months.

The only thing we would be on the hook for would be the remainder of the bal for both phones on Sprint after the port out.

So the total bill would be $140 + taxes & fees...........now if we want different phones then I'm sure that promo goes away and we would have to pay monthly payments on new phones if we went that route down the road?

They did say that the credits for the 2 phones would not appear until the 3rd billing cycle then they would be retroactive from month one basically making the third months bill almost a wash with all of the back credits. Then starting month 4 the bill would be the $140 + taxes & fees

We are currently on the 25 gig promo $50 + $15 X 2 lines access fee = $80 month + 2 phone payments + taxes & fees = about $147 month currently with Sprint. That promo does end next March along with the current unlimited freedom promo, so then at that point we would be paying more or switching to the current plan that Sprint has next year that best fits our needs?

    Decisions......

  5. Yup. I still like it here, but I want my money to go farther than it does here. It kind of sucks I couldn't afford a house until they were this expensive. I don't see the value proposition, as someone who lived here long before anyone considered this a good place to live. It's weird, for many years "everyone" outside the state looked down their noses at this state. So yeah, I'm leaving, sadly.

I hear ya man! Where are you moving to? I know they said the average home price in the metropolitan area is now hovering about $400k

Apartments are hovering about $1500-2000 a month for a 1-2 bedroom!

Me and my wife have talked about it but honestly don't know where we would move to and what kind of job opportunities there are in other states compared to here where the economy is booming! I'm a native and have lived here my whole life and have seen the increase in population explode and obviously more so when weed was legalized and started the great green rush as they would say. Kind of a double edge sword great economy= higher wages/jobs=more people moving here and housing going through the roof & traffic absolutely sucks!

  6. A follow up on my previous post back in March when I switched over 2 lines:

I operate on wifi calling at my house which has solved my low signal issue at the house. I couldn't be more pleased with the service that I have been getting on Sprint here in the Denver Metro area!

I have been all over the city and for the most part I would say that I am on B41 about 90% of the time and the speeds have been fantastic! Calls have been clear and for the most part I don't drop calls. Every now and then depending on terrain I will be in a dead spot when I drop a call and reacquire the signal shortly after I emerge from a valley or something, but other than that the service has been rock solid :tu:

The only other pet peeve I have with Sprint service is tethering for my kids watching Netflix or Youtube when we're driving somewhere and the disconnect I get when I get a call  even if I don't answer the phone and just hit ignore it will still cut off the data session and I will have to go back into the phone settings (S7 Edge) and re-activate the hotspot function :td:

The money that I'm saving and the quick data speeds on B41 which is clearly evident that Sprints airwaves/frequency here in Denver is uncongested, and really shows when I'm with my Dad who's on T-Mobile and he's running slow in most areas of the city and I'll have to tether my phone for his laptop to get him decent speeds to do what he needs to do :P

To sum it up Sprints network here in Denver kicks ass! And I'm glad to be back on Sprint saving money and using IMO a superior network experience so far :)

  7. Reviving this thread for some clarification, I might be flying out to San Francisco later this week and was wondering about the LTE coverage B41 specifically in the city?

I tried checking Sprints coverage maps and they really need to change their colors from the one shade of yellow to another where you can't tell the difference?! Whoever made that map needs to be fired and they need to use different colors to clearly differentiate the coverage that sprint provides between bands so they're easily seen.

    Thanks guys for the responses!

  8. Has anyone noticed issues with HD Calling? I'm now noticing that none of the calls since I got the device have been HD voice.

Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk

Yep count me in also, I actually started a thread about it in the network vision forum (I think?) anyhow I mentioned this earlier in this thread and made a new one as well. Seems like I'm not alone which is good to hear it's not just my phones (me and my wife) or market (Denver) that might be causing this?? I wonder if it was something Samsung disabled or something?

  9. Do you have wifi calling enabled?

I do not...haven't tried that feature quite yet, glad I have the option though just like T-Mobile

Send a tweet out to Marci's team. She can will some engineers involved. Sounds like a bug in your market with the S7. Possibility.

I wonder if that's what it is, a problem with the S7 in the Denver market?? I'll see if I can reach out to the appropriate personnel at Sprint to try and get a response to this issue?

    Thx

  10. tmobile volte is on a whole different level compared to Sprints HD voice which sounds robotic at times.

Interesting and good to know when I get a chance to experience Sprints version of HD voice lol.....as of right now I haven't experienced it so I can't compare yet unfortunately :(

  11. ^^^^Not a big issue per se but the network here in Denver (at least in my experience) has been overloaded in different parts of the city for sure! The speeds have been noticeably slower as a result of the success T-Mobile has had since the uncarrier movement started, (over 20+ million subs added since starting) whatever their spectrum holdings are here in Denver with AWS/700/PCS etc....they are starting to become overloaded resulting in dropped calls sometimes and slow speeds.

It was a combination of that and a pure financial move to save money on our bill monthly for me and my wife.

  12. I posted a comment about this in the Samsung thread but thought I would throw it out here because it might be a network issue possibly?

I just made the switch to Sprint last Friday with 2 S7 edges for me and my wife. I haven't been able to make or receive HD calls on these phones since we switched over??

I went to the store and they said that I should be able to make and receive HD calls on the S7 edge. They even tried to call me on their phone to mine and it showed attempting HD call on their end but the end result was no HD call??

I was looking forward to keeping some version of HD voice (WB enabled codec through 1x advanced) when I switched from T-Mobile after using their VOLTE which was crystal clear as I still use my phone as a phone and the downgrade to standard voice quality from VOLTE is very noticeable.

Any thoughts guys on why my call log doesn't show HD calls between me and my wife nor does it say attempting HD call? Is it network related or market related issues with the S7 edge?

    Thx
