  1. Lots of places in the Queens area are covered with CA now. Specifically the Flushing/Bayside areas. Last week, I noticed CA was on near Union Street and 32nd Avenue so I did a speedtest and got 151.14Mbps / 14.89Mbps / 27ms. Amazing what the WiMAX shutdown does for us.

  2. Hello everyone:

I was a Sprint customer from 2011-2013. I tried to ride off the storm but eventually could not stand the slow data speeds from Sprint so I paid the ETF and jumped over to at&t. Tremendous improvement.

So now Sprint has been catching my attention with some great new deals and I am tempted to switch back but the main questions is: has Sprint improved?

Is their data and calling much better? Are data speeds reliable and fast?

I live in NYC and I would appreciate everyone's input. I don't want to switch and later regret it. Please be honest and don't trash Sprint either.

I know they are still working on their network but I would switch back only if their network and data speeds have improved.

Sprint has improved dramatically all over NYC.

I live in Flushing and get 6 Mbps on B25 at my house during peak hours.

A few blocks away on Northern Blvd and 150th Street, I get speeds of 50 Mbps on B41.

I am typing this from a cafe in Bayside, connecting off the Sprint network at 25 Mbps B25.

Before February, this location was 3G only and crawling at about 30 Kbps.

The Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan have similar success stories.

Consider donating to S4GRU to obtain detailed information.

PS To see the benefits of the network, you need a tri-band phone that can access B25, B26, and B41.

  3. Sorry to resurrect an old thread. I just started having this issue last week in Queens, NYC.

Double tapping my airplane mode from the drop down fixes it instantly but I am baffled why

this happens. I cannot recreate it, just happens randomly. One workaround is to uncheck

the auto network time sync but hopefully someone else has a better solution.

  4. But then you can't keep Sero lol

Buy Nexus 5 32GB from Google $400 and some change

Buy iphone 5s with upgrade from Sprint for $200, wait a few weeks for delivery, easily sell it sealed for $650

    That's a free Nexus 5 32GB and some leftover change :)

Edit - Oh and you get to keep the Nexus 5 this way...

This is what I did with an upgrade on one of my lines. :) Except my gold one almost paid for two N5s!
