  1. Typing Swype and a small box can kill a word or two.

Long hand...The Note Edge has rural roaming, but most 1st time device's have MFG flaws, and the price is way too high.

The lackluster screen of the Nexus 6 leaves a lot to be desired, for the price.

Friday I will have to evaluate all three, but for a better screen, and rural roaming the Note edge has my attention.

I wanted a larger screen, but dual speakers and a mediocre screen is mehat that price.

I tried to edit, and could not then I got busy at work

I thought both phones had rural roaming but the Note Edge has carrier aggregation? I may be remembering wrong though.

  2. I don't really remember an announcement last year w/ the Nexus 5.  Google just doesn't do announcements - it's weird, I know.  People need to stop comparing this to the iPhone launch, though.  There's people who are still waiting on their iPhone 6+ orders, and it's been out for a few weeks now.

Well, not Google, I wish Sprint would let us know the launch details. I found where they gave the info last year for the Nexus 5 and it was only 8 days before launch, so hopefully it'll be soon.

  3. It's strange that this guy is reporting $699 retail for the 32 GB model.  Both Motorola and Google's website show $650 for the 32 GB model and $699 for 64 GB.  Either he's mistaken, Sprint's system isn't finalized yet, or Sprint is charging $50 more than it should.

If I remember correctly, they did the same thing with the Nexus 5.

  4. You're right - not worth the effort!

Yeah, if that's the only reason you're rooting, I wouldn't bother. It's not hard but you may trigger the KNOX "Warranty Bit". There have been stories of people being refused service/replacement because of that bit being triggered and stories of people having no issues. Personally I went ahead and did it and tripped it but that's because I can't stand not tinkering with my phone. :)

  5. Does anybody know how to hide the developer options in the settings menu on the GN3 without factory resetting the phone?

I was curious to see what all was in the developer's menu and enabled it by muti-tapping on the build version.  Now I can't find a way to re-hide it.  I tried clearing the cache and data under settings, but no luck.

Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

If you're rooted, you can delete the file /data/data/com.android.settings/shared_prefs/development.xml, otherwise I don't think you can without a factory reset - which seems like a bit much just for that.

  6. Anderson, SC was reported as getting 4G LTE as of the 16th of Jan according to their own website: http://newsroom.spri...article_id=2495

Not sure what you mean by this...

Right, everywhere Sprint has service will get LTE, but there's no timeframe in that article other then "in the coming months". If you're a S4GRU Sponsor, you can see on the maps that none of the towers in the SC market have been accepted for 4G yet so it seems unlikely they'd be ready to launch in 3 days. I'm definitely looking forward to it (I was in Atlanta this past weekend and it was so nice to have LTE) but it's probably going to be a bit longer before it happens.

  7. Well... Called after there wasn't any indication of LTE on my status bar... According to the rep that I spoke with, the date of the 2nd was only for voice, and that the data wasn't set to be done until the 7th... We will see...

Since none of the sites in the area have been accepted for 4G yet, I don't expect we'll see anything on the 7th either. Sprint reps typically have less information than what you can find on here.
