  1. Getting LTE 2600 is still hard to get right now.  You basically have to be standing near a known deployed LTE 2600 tower and do an airplane mode cycle in order to get LTE 2600.  Since you are not a premier sponsor chances are you are not in an area where LTE 2600 is deployed.

I figured I'd try it but I wasn't expecting much.  I'm just glad to finally have any LTE at my house.

  2. You can go to sprint.com/chat, you can go to your my sprint page and click chat, try a different browser, if that doesnt work. Go to the shop page. Chat with a sales rep and ask them to transfer you to customer care.

Apparently I have to call.  Thanks for the info though.  I'll do it tomorrow.

  3. Most of the time they have never asked me, but I told them once that I was an app developer and I needed it to access internal values.  They didn't ask any questions after that.

I'll try again once chat comes back up.  Hopefully it's not a big ordeal.

  4. Try using the chat feature.  They don't seem to care and give it out pretty easily from my experience.

Is there something specific I need to tell them that makes them more likely to give them to me?  They asked me specifically why I wanted them.

  5. There should be LTE 2600 in scattered parts of Chicago.  There might be LTE 800 in Chicago but at this point LTE 800 is a huge mystery and no one knows which areas if any has been deployed with it yet.  But in a huge market like Chicago, you would have to think that LTE 800 is deployed somewhere but no one is going to drive to each tower and scan for LTE 800.

How do I scan the LTE channels?

  6. Test it out when you connect to LTE and let me know if it worked out for you.

I did. I'm on the 1900 MHz band right now.  I don't know if there are any of the other bands that are live around me...since I'm not a premier sponsor with the sweet maps.

  7. Use the dialer code *#*#33284#*#* and scroll to the LTE Engineering menu and look for the Band XX entry.  for the specific frequency you are connected to, unless you have a HTC phone it won't show up on SignalCheck app.

On that LTE Engineering screen, note the EARFCN UL number and DL number and then punch it into this EARFCN to frequency calculator to get the actual frequency. Choose LTE for network type and choose North America for region.  Enter the EARFCN DL (downlink) number and walah!!!!

    Awesome!  Thanks.

  8. This is kind of a noob question but I just got my Nexus 5 today. How do I see what Lte channel I'm on? I could see the frequency in SignalCheck on My Evo Lte but not on the Nexus. I'm I. The Chicago market so I'm curios to see the extra Lte channels.

  9. Sprint's giving me a $50 credit for a few months and they might give me upgrade pricing for a new phone. Will update later. Sounds like they know it's a well known issue because they admitted to me that they know about the problems.

What did you have to do to get that? Like what specific issues did you complain about? I was all about calling them earlier but no one was saying anything about having any luck with it.
