Glad they did. Was an eye soreLooks like the Spark LTE spinner has been retired. I wonder if Samsung is standardizing the UI across all of their devices.

Anyone in the Macomb/Oakland County area seeing more B41?
-
It was regular power saving mode mostly. Only used ultra when at work. Even without it I can still get 8 to 10 hrs with light useyes, I know it's subjective, but to have to cripple your phone with ultra power saving modes for long stretches of the day as he did, just to make it to 10pm? That's not "great" battery life. If he's fine with that procedure, then more power to him, but I'm not sure anyone would consider that "great". Great battery life would be to have the phone last that long in the day without using any battery saver tricks. I would very impressed with that performance.

Just so every one knows it was from 530am to 10pm

To eaches own I guess. In my opinion a phone with 8 cores and a quad hd screen thats pretty Damn good. But maybe that's just me. If I can go 12+ hours without charging thats great battery life. And this was a mix of power saving mode and ultra saving mode

Had the S6 for about 2 weeks now and battery life for me has been great. Granted I always keep power saving mode on and use ultra power saving when at work when I need to call or text. Took off the charger at 5:30am and I'm at 12% now at 10:06

Yea you got it good. SE Mich is within an IBEZ. No B26 LTE or voice and just starting to see towers light up with B41.I'm in a dual-band market (no B41 yet) and it's really good here. I was just in the Philly market this past weekend and got to experience all three bands. It worked seamlessly, transitioning between all 3 bands without a hiccup. I was pretty impressed. There's still more work to do where I was, but I was impressed how far it's come along just since I was there last time (around Christmas).

The data experience is so bad with just the single band 25 I wouldn't blame them. Tri-band phones are way better. I'm not even in an official spark market (SE Mich) and it's definitely an improvement.

Yea my girlfriend has the original S4 and hopes she gets it as well. I can see sprint not updating it to try to convince people to get tri-band phones.

Lol. Kinda surprising that a carrier is updating the S4 to lollipop so close to the release of the S6.

Didn't expect ATT to jump the gun.

Speedtest in New Baltimore indoors! Hope this will be the new norm or atleast close to it when spark is finished being deployed.

Most likely coming from a different tower then. But 6 miles on B41 is more than I expected. What is the typical radius for all sprints lte bands?Should be higher than that if you're line of sight and 1/4 mile. On a set of new Samsung towers in SE Omaha, I get 99-103 outdoors line of sight at up to 6 miles. Indoor and one exterior wall and I drop to 105-115 and periodic signal loss at those distances.
For one that I'm centered on between sectors, I struggle to get those numbers at a mile.
Fairly sure two of the three are not at full power yet, maybe even the third.

No, working on the premier status. I can see the nearby tower from my balcony. About a quarter mile away between Metropolitan Parkway and I-94. I'm getting between -103 to - 117 dbm on B41 so I'm assuming it's coming from there.

My S4 has been jumping from B25 to B41 constantly while at home. Signs of a nearby tower getting optimized I'm hoping.

Off topic but my S4 has been jumping from B25 to B41 constantly while at home. Signs of a nearby tower getting optimized?

Like you said sprint is more to blame so maybe they are delaying the update to persuade S4 owners to get the S6.

Good point. I love Samsung devices but I hate the update process. Seems as of lately LG and HTC have been getting better at updates even with older devices.

Very true. Thought Samsung would go the Apple route and atleast update the last 2 flagships. Iphone 5 still supports ios8 and wouldn't be surprised if it got ios9.
