  1. Any idea on a timeframe for LTE in Waterville? I know that Whitehouse has LTE and I'm sure it's only a matter of time before we do .

I dont have any real time frame,

Tho i think someone here said it looked like backhual was being installed a few weeks ago so ill take a guess it shouldnt be to much longer once Sprint gets to the site and backhaul is there. Only a guess maybe a month or less. Im going to say its going to be sooner than later the way they been getting things done around the market now

  2. I thought I put up the picture of the Conant tower awhile back, but apparently I didn't I apologize. However, it seems to be a moot point now I am next to the tower now while at work and am pulling LTE from it, it is relatively weak though. On Reynolds between Glendale and Heatherdowns I had full LTE and was pulling 18.35 down.

No big deal, but thanks for trying to post. The tower over on Angola Road and Monclova rd along 23 are pushing out LTE now so thats likey one of the two that you are connected too. Should start seeing more sites going live with LTE in Toledo and Metro area
  3. I was picking up a LTE signal around driving down Sylvania Ave driving toward Corey Road from Talmadge this morning.  Signal died on me right before I hit Holland Sylvania.  I'm about to head back out there with Sensorly running and I'll run Signal Check to (hopefully) see what is going on.

Good deal, now that most all the towers but one are accepted if theres backhaul there sites will start firing up more and more, so keep an eye out. Very exciting tho cant wait til most of Toledo is covered
  4. Hello,

I kind of lurked on here a bit to get more info on the updates on towers around the Toledo area. I just saw this pop on my phone so I thought I would actually sign up and post it in here.

I work near the Holland/Toledo border (Airport/Holland Sylvania/Angola area) and my office is smack dab in the middle of our building, so lets just say my service isn't great. Just checked my phone and have LTE service for the first time in this area. It bounces back from 3G to LTE for the past ~20min. or so. Once I leave for lunch I will see if it is constant outside.

I don't know how to do all the posting and stuff and signal strength, but just thought I would post this b/c I live in this area too so I would love to finally have LTE service over here (when not on WiFi)

Thank you for the posting and welcome to S4GRU :welc:
  5. Thanks for the answer I am simply just verifying that it's not just my phone since my whole family has an s4 and we have the same problems. I have been in the 4g areas and making a phone call was useless and we all know the economy sucks and we can't afford to waste money so just wondering if I should look at other carries for now that's all, until sprint follows through with their word which has yet to honestly happen, I am a little on edge for paying them lol.

im going to say its not the phone when im Toledo its half works half crap kind of deal.In fact I was just over by the mall and I could barly use my phone at all. I really dont think with what progress has been made that somthing would not be accepted soon like a month or a little more, maybe even all of towers in Toledo.. of cource these are just my opinions with what I see out and about. Id say if you have to go to another carrier than do so till things get finshed. Ive been blessed with having LTE at home(tho I use wifi) I will say its a night and day difference between new and old.
  6. I understand they are upgrading towers but is anyone noticing a ridiculous amount of issues with making phone calls where it be the call won't place or will drop or really high pitch noises coming through the phone? Sent from an S4!

With new equitment and old equitment it will cause issues like you have explained, til they have upgraded every tower your most likley going to have that till than.
  7. I drive past one of the Lima towers every day to and from work. For about 2 weeks straight I saw a truck or two there doing something. Its been at least a week and a half since I have seen anyone there.

    Wonder whats going on?

There could be a few reasons, one they may be done with the tower if cabinets and antennas are compelte. Could be they are waiting on somthing for that tower, so they will go to another tower or towers to work on that till

Whatever was the hold up on other tower. I see your a sponsor now you should have access to the maps with tower locations if you can post pics of the towers that you see with work being done ryan or i can give ya an idea, just make sure you dont post the Site IDs on this fourm

It should get even better once they get more and more towers with LTE online, its good that most of the towers ryan and i have seen are high capacity too. Now lets just hope within the year they put up 2500 LTE somewhere in the market..i want to test my new triband phone out

  9. So there's been a lot of trying to figer out who is doing backhaul and such, so I did some research and I found century links service areas in our area. This to me is why we don't have sites With LTE, unfortunately it seems they are lacking in many markets. Don't mean they are doing all of the backhaul for sites, but it's a good chance https://www.centurylink.com/wholesale/territory_maps_us.html

  10. Could it be so that I found a permit for 2500 LTE?? There's a few more at other locations as well. Don't want to give to much more detail due to this being an open fourm.

  11. The site is at Sylvania & King. The output is mostly pointed west so, if you were heading east, the strength on that side of the site is weaker than if you were headed west, toward Centennial, where the signal also extends further. I'm sure this is because the neighboring sites to the east are much closer than sites to the west. This could be the reason it seemed to favor weaker lte signals over stronger cdma.

That could be a good reason. Just want my phone to work again, having way to many problems even when connected to a full strength Lte tower

This very true cus there's one up the street on the blue water tower, one over by 475 and one right by central and McCord. Than to the west it's the tower in Metamora on C.R. S and 3-1. You don't want towers overlapping eachother with signal or it will cause a big mess, hence the weaker signal to the east and direcited toward the west...it was late I was trying to remember all this lol..thanks for explaing this tho :tu:

  12. Quick question...does our device prioritize an Lte connection over evdo? I have noticed after working in sylvania all day today that my phone would choose to connect to a Tower with Lte that had little to no signal strength over a full barred Evdo tower. I noticed that once I was just out of range for the Lte tower I switched to a full strength Evdo tower almost everytime. Which I noticed also affected call quality.

I really think it depends on your device. I know with my HTC one I have to be close to the tower sometimes for it to connect to LTE. Also sometimes you may still get 1x signal from one tower and LTE from another all depends. If you notice to your 1x is somtimes better than your LTE due most likely cus LTE has more of fragile signal than EVDO. Idk if this is any help I could be way off on it, trying to remember.
