  1. So I'm going to revive this old thread. Are there any signal boosters that boost Band 41 yet? I read a while ago that Wilson/WeBoost couldn't make them due to the FCC not allowing them (not sure why. If you know, I'm more than happy to learn), but they were trying to appeal that decision. Does anybody know of any signal boosters that work with all three Sprint bands? Or does the FCC still not allow boosters for B41?

  2. Is it known whether or not it has 2GB of ram?

I’m fine with it not having 2xCA. Not surprising, but disappointing. I’ll be selling my 6+ and getting this as I’m sick of the size (I don’t watch enough videos on my phone to justify the size, plus I’d rather just buy a bigger laptop/tablet for videos on the go) and the 5s design is gorgeous. So some slightly upgraded specs to hold me over until my next upgrade in November. Fingers crossed for 3xCA in the iPhone 7. If not maybe I’ll see what windows and android are up to. If Microsoft can eventually get continuum right, I may not be able to resist.

Edit: Wait, why no band 13 on the Sprint model? I have a feeling that’s going to be a pretty big hit on resale value.

  3. Hope this is available for current customers. Be nice to include tethering as well.

It would be nice, but for some reason I doubt it will include tethering. They didn’t include tethering when they matched their unlimited family plan last time. But I hope they prove me wrong this time!

I wonder what percentage of unlimited data plan users, that have tethering as part of their plan, actually utilize it.

  4. I'm mostly curious about how the upgrades at BestBuy will be affected.  I really enjoyed picking up the latest phone for $1 on a 2yr agreement.  AT&T customers can't even do a 2yr upgrade there anymore.

Yeah, Best Buy can't be beat when it comes to the deals they have on subsidized devices. Hopefully they keep them going for us for a bit longer. I feel like it's a slap in the face to take away subsidies from loyal customers, especially since the price of the subsidy was built into the plan to begin with.

  5. I can't think of anything in my house that uses 900mhz right now. This would be good for where I live right now because we have a fairly large house that our router has a hard time penetrating through all the walls. That and the next door neighbor is a couple acres away, so we shouldn't too much interference on that front. Now, my girlfriend living in the city of Richmond, VA is another story. I'm kind of exited to see how this plays out. I know baby monitors use 900mhz, but what else does exactly? I can't even think of much.

  6. Can you add a line with an existing owned device, then go to Best buy and get the "upgrade"?

I think this is probably the best bet.

And on that note, is it possible to transfer an upgrade to another line on your account? And if so, how would you go about doing that?

  7. Just returned from best buy and tried to add a new line with the iPhone 6 promotion and it didn't work out. Calling Sprint again to see what's up.

Yeah, it's not super easy for Best Buy to add a new line to ED for some reason. I just recently added a 5th line and the lady at Best Buy had to start a new My Way plan to get me the line and the promotion, then she had to call up sprint to get them to transfer the line over to my ED plan.

  8. I personally think B26 should not be aggregated with any other Band. In order for a user to use CA on B26 and any other Band, that means they could be using another Band altogether. And no one should be on B26 except for people who have no choice because they have no other LTE signal available. B26 is wasted to aggregate. It will never be useful to anyone else who can't use anything but B26.

B25 carrier aggregation could be useful with other B25 carriers. When Sprint can do this in the future, it will be useful.

However B25+B41 CA is also unnecessary and wasteful. Because if someone is in range of B41, there is no sense in them wasting B25 resources. They might as well be on B41 solely and possibly even let their device aggregate them with another B41 carrier. B41+B41 will always be better than B41+B25.

I thought that Sprint had short term plans to aggregate the band 25 uplink with band 41 downlink so that they could turn up the power on band 41 to get a further reach. Why wouldn't that be a good plan for B41+B25?

  9. I think it's interesting how data plan selections go from minuscule amounts and then suddenly "BOOM! UNLIMITED BABY!" For like another 10 to 15 bucks on top of the highest minuscule tiered data option. So you have your 8 gigabyte plan and then unlimited. But I guess that's because they don't expect people to actually use that "unlimited data". Most people with unlimited probably don't use more than 10-15 gigs in a single month at most.

  10. Plus what does everyone do at events when they notice a data slowdown? Speedtest to see if they have a slow connection!

I don't see anything wrong with running a speedtest to see what's going on when your phone's performance drops dramatically. You never know if it could be unrelated to the actual internet speed or not. Could be anything to do with your phone reducing the performance. I think it's fine if you're just running one single test. So long as you're not running tests constantly, it shouldn't really be affecting the network that much, considering they only last a few seconds.

  11. I'm intersted to see how that plays out with Apple. I feel a lot of customers that still have their ED plan with iPhones would be pretty upset to find out they all of the sudden can no longer user their 2 year upgrade and must pay full price for their iPhone. I don't t think I would switch to android devices, I would just keep my 6...which still effects Apple.

According to this (https://www.reddit.com/r/verizon/comments/3ghy3i/if_you_are_currently_on_an_older_nationwide_plan/) reddit post, Verizon will continue to allow contract renewal with subsidized phone pricing for people on Legacy plans. Hopefully if Sprint decides to do away with contracts, they will follow suit and allow subsidized phones for legacy plan holders. Now, assuming this is how it will actually be for Verizon, I'm very eager to see how Apple will announce their pricing for their new phones come next month. Starting their prices at $650 and going all the way up to $950 will bring to light the true cost of phones and will hopefully make people reconsider how much they are actually willing to spend on a phone. If you ask me, paying over half a grand for a phone is kind of rediculous, I can buy a decent laptop, good monitor and desktop speakers for the amount of $650. But I also think it won't affect sales very much.. because, Apple. One thing they are good at is making sure people get trapped in their ecosystem.

  12. Since I got this router, I've had issues with VPNs running on my iPhone. whenever I'm connected to this router my speeds will not go above 0.40Mbps. Yet when I'm connected to my old router, the speeds will be normal. But the same VPN service will work fine on my computer. Does anybody have any suggestions for me? The VPNs I use all run with IPSec if that matters at all.
