They keep saying it's been unlocked in their system but they have failed to provide me with the unlock code. I don't think this phone can be OTA unlocked. Who do I need to contact to get the unlock code? T-Mobile says they don't have it, the SPC code does not work to unlock it. I contacted Sonim and they said T-Mobile has to contact them, T-Mobile refuses to contact Sonim.

If I switch to a T-Mobile SIM (TNX) will I lose the ability to roam on AT&T? (I know I'll lose the ability to roam on Verizon 1x voice). There is a area I travel though frequently that literally has nothing but AT&T and Verizon and has been fine for me for many years with Sprint as I would always just roam on Verizon there and the past year and a half I started roaming on AT&T there instead.

Any update on CDMA sunset?
I have not heard anything. Only that non-volte devices won't be allowed on the T-Mobile network...
AT&T has announced Feb 2022 https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/KM1324171
Verizon to end CDMA Jan 2021 IIRC...

What is the difference between SOI0003a and SGI0003a

Got it on my iPhone 6s after manually updating.

Better yet. Any word on eSIM support on the SE?

Huh? The networks are merging, Sprint 41 (2500mhz) will become T-Mobile...

So.. I have a Sanyo Taho by Kyocera. It is a sprint phone. Sprint BYOD accepts the IMEI but it wants me to enter the sim card number to add a line. It does not give an option to order sim card from sprint directly. It is an old flip phone and does not really need a sim. Settings does not show ICCID.
I have a few Kyocera Kona flip phones too. BYOD accepts the IMEI but needs sim card number. Which I don't have for it (and no way to put a sim card inside the phone either). No idea how to find ICCID
Any help?
ICCID = SIM CARD NUMBER. Without a SIM card there is no ICCID...

I have a Verizon LG G2 and it does have a SIM...
The only difference between the two is the supported LTE bands...

New PRL is finally out updated from 55071 to 55072
Is that site that compares and shows changes in PRL's still around?

I would do the ESIM and IMEI (for CDMA) with Sprint and use a physical Verizon SIM...

Don't take away my 3G! It's the only thing that works decently at my apartment lol
You mean the band that it is using works in your apartment. If they replace it with LTE on that same frequency you should be fine.

It shows the SIM card # followed by SG and a few numbers, is that what u need?
Interesting. Mine does not contain "SG".
You're going to have a different SIM card on that newer iPhone so the question is does it match the other iPhone's SIM?

Excuse my ignorance but how do I check?
The version number is printed on the sim card itself.

I saw that post on reddit and today I contacted Sprint via chat and they told me my PRL is correct but they can't explain why my wife's is 55071 and mine is 33046.
She is under a family plan with her sister's and I'm on my own plan on the byod but all my services work just fine. I just hope it does not affect my roaming.
Are your SIM card's part and version numbers identical?

It will not authenticate and the iPhone 6 will not have service.
Sprint Sims are paired to device and specific to device models as currently designed.

I meant to mention assuming I could update the associated IMEI through the website.

I've had PRL's in the 5xxxx series ever since iOS 9.3.3 so I don't think the iOS version is the problem.
Someone here mentioned the SIM

just switched to Sprint and my PRL indicates 33046. Any reason why it does not indicate 55071?
iPhone XS (byod)
unlocked from the Apple Store
Have you done a ##CLEAR# then a ##UPDATE# since switching?

What would happen if I put a iPhone 8 SIM in a iPhone 6s??? I find it odd that Sprint needs different SIM's for different phone's when the other 3 carriers and MVNO's can provide a single universal SIM...

I’m probably missing a post as I e been gone for awhile. But why aren’t they on Tmo for roaming.
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkYa, I wonder that too. There is no Sprint where I am living right now and I'm roaming on AT&T LTE for data and AT&T HSDPA for voice. I checked the maps and there is T-Mobile here. So why prefer AT&T over T-Mobile?!
-
I am concerned about what Sprint is going to do about voice for iPhone's 6, 6+, SE, 6s, 6s+, 7, and 7+. Right now with my 6s my voice calls go over AT&T HSDPA when I'm outside of Sprint coverage. I'm wondering if Sprint will support VoLTE on these phones or decide to just pawn us off on AT&T for voice even inside Sprint coverage areas, which I believe AT&T plans to shut down HSDPA in 2022.

I get 128kbps - 512kbps on "Extended Network LTE" and I'm 99% sure it's on AT&T's network.
I get about 5mbps/5mbps on "Extended LTE" and I'm not sure if it's Verizon or T-Mobile's network...
Neither of which seem to go towards my 300mb data roaming limit. The only thing that seems to go towards that limit is "Extended 3G" which is on Verizon.

Well Tier 1 tech support is clueless. Have to try Tier 2...

Fired up my Samsung M510. "No Service" (CDMA) found from Sprint or Verizon.
So the only old tech still running AFAIK is T-Mobile's EDGE.
