  1. Can anyone comment on the signal reception compared to their old device? Is it better or worse? Are you holding on to LTE better?

Honestly the device is not all that keen on holding on to B41. It does great on B25 and B26. Comparing it with the S7 Edge, the Edge is a tad better signal wise. Granted the device just came out I'm thinking with a few updates it should be good. So far a pretty decent device, it's like a Note 5 with extreme cosmetic surgery, including Lipo...

This is odd, doesn't appear to have it, at least not yet. Maybe in an upcoming software update. You would've thought it come enabled right out of the box.

  3. I never thought I would say this again about a Samsung phone, but wow they did a wonderful job on this! I'm really pleased on how it feels in my hand the the edge design is different.

How's the signal on this device?

  4. I have to say that it makes me happy that around a Sprint forum these days we are complaining about 4 Mbps. It wasn't that long ago we were complaining about 50kbps being commonplace.

I encounter a lot of sub 4Mbps speeds on Tmo, VZW and AT&T. So this does not bother me much at all.

Not to say that I don't agree with you, though. I notice a lot of Clearwire sites are considerably slower than their Sprint B41 counterparts.

I complain of 4mbs in downtown Cincinnati, because I can only compare it to Verizon, whom I left for Sprint in 2014. I fortunately was not with Sprint during those dark days to make a comparison.

  5. Well I talked to this lady again and I got pretty damn heated with her, I told her something must be done as it is obviously a hardware issue and something must be done. So she created a ticket with the network team so they can investigate the towers and whatnot to make sure things are good on their end and that something else is not causing the issue. And if it is determined to be a problem that they cannot resolve we can go from there, so maybe a free upgrade? I will gladly take an S7 if that will give me a phone that works like it should. But we shall see waiting to hear back from the network guys and or this lady.

I tried the S7 before I switched to the S7 Edge (only did it because of the larger screen) RF was much better than the S7 Edge by a long shot.

  6. Maybe it's time to switch brands. Samsung has gone downhill in RF quality with each variant they release. The last decent phone was the S4.

I agree, I can beat myself for getting the S7 Edge on a lease. It's worse than my Note 5 believe it or not.

  7. Well the phone came from Sprint and not Asurion like I thought it would, showing more or less the same signal strength. Great back to square one... Guess it's off to the Note 6/7 next month.

    Damn that sucks!

  9. Not gonna lie, my phone seems slightly better than before, not losing LTE as often but its still not like it was. Still going onto 3G in places I haven't before.

Combination of a screwed up update and probably network issues. It is hard to conceive how bad they screwed up on a lot of these updates. I guess I'm one of the lucky few.

  10. Are radios controlled by firmware and not the OS? Maybe marshmallow redid the radio firmware that a reinstallation of Lollipop wouldn't touch. Just a thought.

If that's the case that would suck big time!

  11. Doing a format now with a fresh install of marshmallow, going to see if it's any better and if not gonna try lollipop. Gonna compare the differences in the RF as well so I can shove it in their face.

I'll be curious to see what you are able to determine. The phone is too expensive for anyone to be having problems with it, due to some faulty update.

  12. So I got jerked around again, these people just don't get it. I was told to restore the device to factory settings with a format... Well no crap like I haven't done that already, oh and make sure notwork mode is set to LTE/CDMA well once again no crap. Poorer signal strength on marshmallow compared to lollipop? not an issue it's nothing to be concerned about lol like who hires these people? Time to kick some dirt again I am going higher this is totally unacceptable.

God this all sounds so familiar! Lol. Keep on pushing the issue. ????

  13. Honestly I'm sorry y'all are seeing all these issues, :-( I, thankfully have not had a single problem with LTE signal on the Note 5. Now on the S7 Edge I'm seeing many of the issues y'all are describing.

  14. Got mine during lunch, it's OK, that's all I can say. Got to work and noticed a black "burn" mark on the lower left hand corner. And the keyboard is quite "sticky" had to switch to the Google keyboard. Needless to say I'll have to take it back as soon as I leave work this evening. Quite disappointing to say the least.

  15. Just a few more days for Sprint users. We'll have to see if it is indeed 3xCA capable. It looks like it does support VoLTE which means it's likely only 2xCA like the G5 and you'd think Sprint would continue to boast 3xCA if it were capable.

So 3XCA is still unknown for this device? Dang this the most "mysterious" I've ever heard of lol. Almost seems like they are not giving this device much importance.

  16. How's everyone liking the device? Personally, I am actually wanting to go back to the GS7. At work, my DAS system doesn't reach some areas, so I rely on WiFi calling. However, WiFi calling seems to be very inconsistent on the unlocked variant. That and the lack of wireless charging has gotten me spoiled. I initially got this device for rooting/modding but I've had nothing but a frustrating experience so far with it, so I think it's going back.

I can't wait for Sprint to begin selling the damn device lol. I'm up for an upgrade but I'm waiting to see how well the device fairs on Sprint's network. Ive had nothing but good experience with HTC devices when it comes to signal strength in the past. So I'm hoping it's the same case with this one, if and when Sprint decides to sell it lol.
