What was the time frame between when Philly started showing little blips of LTE and where they are now? I think it was like 2 or 3 months.

Those blips lasted me a few weeks. Now I got nothing. Back to deplorable 3G.

Where in West Philly are you? I'm near Clark Park and the signal seems to come and go, and is never really that fast. My strength is always around -100 to -115 when it's on.

I'm near 56th Market St. Been on 4G since my last post. Signal strength at time of this post is -88 dBm.  (I don't know if that's good or bad).

Don't know when LTE kicked on again in West Philly but it's been fast and consistent. Hope this is permanent and not another tease.

Currently I'm on the forums using 3G. Haven't been able to do that in a very long time so the network is definitely improving.

Nevermind, I won't be getting one from Amazon. Now back to the drawing board.

The Galaxy S3 is $29.99 for add-a-line from Amazon right now. I'm thinking about getting one so that I can plot Sensorly.

So then how would most normal people who don't have access to select information know when testing is complete?

I drove on I-78 today through the Hellertown exit and saw strong LTE on the Sensorly map, but I couldn't seem to get my EVO LTE to connect... I did airplane mode a few times and also restarted it. Am I doing something wrong? Or is the 2 or so minutes I spent driving through the area not enough to pick up the signal? It was showing very dark purple on the map.

Same here. Dark purple areas on the map yet LTE won't kick in no matter how many x's I toggle airplane mode or restart.

 

About a year ago I did random brownie point texts to the wife every morning on a scheduled task in handcent. I did five texts one for each day at slightly different times with different messages per day. I got busted when I forgot to turn it off on a day I had to take off and my phone was in the car so she knew I didn't send the text. DOH!

i havent tried BT headsets but most of the time I've used speakerphone and sounds really good

The only time I use speakerphone is when on-hold and don't feel like sitting here phone in hand waiting for someone to pick up.

 

It not only gets better LTE reception but LTE speeds are faster plus voice calls sound better too, overall radio is better than my old Evo LTE...

Within the past week while talking on phone all of a sudden I can't hear but the other party can hear me. Don't know if it's a phone issue or the new BT headset I got.

We keep having LTE on then back off. When does it come on and stay on?

For the past week or so, places I previously picked up LTE are now non existent.

Thanks for the concern. I use the SignalCheck Pro app which plays a series of chimes when LTE is picked up. My phone is mounted on my windshield with a vacuum phone mount, and the app has easily visible color-coded signal strength bars for each antenna. If I hear the chime, I can easily check on the signal at a quick glance, or I usually check Sensorly when I stop or arrive home.

Most of my mapping was done on foot or public transportation.

For all of you driving..... PLEASE be careful.

We're all anxious for that glimmer of 4G to appear in our notifications and from what I'm reading I'm afraid some of you are spending more time looking at your phones than the road.

So again.... please be careful & stay safe while mapping.

Did the sellers listing say NO LCD included?

Do you have any proof of the sellers "full knowledge?"

Before buying did you research what exactly you needed to buy?

I map all the time but let's face it- we are the minority. The majority of average users just want a signal. This sort of stuff they have no clue about.

Is it odd that I some how feel very accomplished because the blip of LTE mapped on Sensorly in Hellertown is from me mapping it. I feel like its an achievement xD. But anyways i'm very glad things are moving along quickly. Im constantly checking my phone for a 4g indicator!

Not to say you are definitely getting it soon, but the exact thing happened to me, the next day the 3g speeds were unbelievable, and that tower was one of the first to come on.

Last night while laying in bed surfing I decided to turn WiFi off. OMG! Web pages were loading so fast- faster than anything I've seen in the past year on 3G.

Too bad that was only temporary. After about 1/2 hr had to turn WiFi back on.
