  1. If I recall correctly the only n5's that there were issued activating were those sold by T-Mobile.

I had an issue with mine from the play store at the beginning but it just took my msl code. I remember sprint having an issue activating T-Mobile origin devices.
  2. Curious to see if anyone has my issues. When I got back from Italy (used the international roaming there) my phone worked fine for a couple days. Then it would connect to LTE and evdo but not 1x so I couldn't make phone calls. I took it to the store after flashing back to full stock (which didn't fix it). After I told the rep my issues using the technological terms (like ehrpd) she told me that I was talking about gsm and sprint is CDMA. She and the lead tech proceeded to tell me I was still in "international" mode and that I needed to get my phone locked to the network again. I tried to explain that nexuses don't come locked and that wasn't the problem because it worked when I got back. I went home, unfixed, and ended up fiddling with it and changed to ART which magically fixed it for a couple days. Then I decided that I would try the developer preview and it has fixed everything. Thoughts?

  3. Has anyone been having battery drain issues as of late? In the past two days, the phone keeps draining when it's idle. I've noticed the biggest culprit is Android OS. Yesterday I had only SOT of 42 minutes, but the battery was at 52% when I left work at 3. Today it's gone from 100% to 80% with SOT of only 16 minutes.

I've tried uninstalling any strange applications, but the problem seems to be happening.

    Any thoughts?

The new hangouts KILLS my battery. I don't know if that's your problem but I would check.

  4. I'll give that a try. Its not that big a deal, just a little annoying.

But it has the silky plus sign instead of the dot. I think I read somewhere that Google actually puts it there sometime to show that you can have another page. Mine does it too though.

  5. Supposedly someone over on xda knows someone who just got the 4.4.3 update. Seems kind of suspect, but maybe the 24th will turn out to be D-Day after all. There are screen shots in their thread if you're interested

Sounding a little hesitant to commit over there. After all these teases I hope you are right.

  6. sorry... voice dictation.

the update has been pushed back, possibly due to LTE issues.

Does that mean that we are back to square one on the LTE configuration/settings?

If so, that could be a significant amount of time before its resolved...

Also we have a unconfirmed memo that the update is coming tomorrow the 24th.

  7. Guys, I have a question, and need some help/advice: I want to try Franco kernel to get more control and better battery life. I'm new to this stuff, but not technically challenged when it comes to a project like this. I've been researching, so please tell me if I have the steps correct. Backup my files, root, get phone back to how I had it, install twrp, create a stock backup, install Franco kernel? Am I missing anything? Any tips? Will I be able to get the eventual spark ota on Franco, or do I need to flash back to my saved stock recovery and sideload it when it's available as a download. Thanks.

Back up what you can, root and install twrp at the same time, restore backup, flash Franco and clear cache and dalvik cache

Is anyone here noticing a significant amount of time without signal running .15? It only used 4% of my battery but I'm just curious to see other users time without signal.

I have it a lot. When you pull down your notification bar does it say searching for service or sprint? Because that was the problem I was experiencing. I didn't have very many problems with csfb but the "no signal" was a little weird.

  9. Yea small world man, the fastest I've seen from that tower is around 25mbs down and 9mbs up on band 25. Im extremely happy it was such a coincidence when i moved into our house that sprint tower was right around the corner lol.

I don't think its backhaul has been upgraded. And I don't know if it has all three bands deployed.

  10. Im from pearland as well, The LTE Coverage here has vastly improved over the past 6 months. I wondered how long it would take them to get it going around 288. I live close to the Foodtown off 518 and very fortunate to be right in the middle of two towers. I did find it funny that im starting to connect to Band 26 over band 25 at my house, I would have close to -90DBM inside my house.

Whoa. I live right by you then. Small world. Its the tower that's on Max Rd that just got updated. I don't know if it has b41 but I know on the coverage map it isn't a "turbo" tower.

  11. Just would like some confirmation that this basic flip phone supports 1x800. I'm having trouble finding specs on it.

My girlfriend's mother and father would probably end up getting these as they're simple, and don't need much functionality other than basic SMS once in awhile. That, and it's only $4/mo with Easy Pay on Framily.

They live on the fringe of 1x1900 so 1x800 is critical, or else they'd need to get a better phone.

It does. My dad just got one and it says so on the bands on the box.

  12. Data has improved greatly in that area with LTE, I was at a restaurant (Gringos) and I was the only one with a fast data connection. My friend with Verizon had 1 bar of 1X and my other friend had ATT which had 1 bar of HSPA (4G). They were both unusable but I had a LTE connection and was able to open and load Instagram in a matter of seconds while the others struggled. This is because of the Sprint tower being right next to the actual mall, it would be nice to have small cells but it's not needed while on LTE there but 3G is a different story. 3G EVDO in Pearland is equivalent to 1X so people with Non-LTE phones are never able to send even an iMessage.

I know what you are saying. When I got my first LTE phone LTE was great. But then it slowly deteriorated. Now its back to the same way and better. On the old side by that Kroger's and DQ it is FAST. Also 3G and even 1x have become usable in my opinion.

  13. Did you happen to notice what the signal difference was when you were connected to b25 and b26?

Band 25 was completely unusable -115 and higher. Band 26 had full bars and was around mid 70s. Also much higher speeds on b26
