  1. :td: Sprint just lost 5 port in phones from AT&T.  I was recommending my sister-in-law and her family switch to Sprint from AT&T for better pricing and service.  They agreed and just waiting for them to be out of contract this month.  I was planning on using the EPRP that is the same My Family is on.

Yesterday, I logged on and showed them the plan and even went through everything up to the point of checking out.  The MRC was $204.96 plus taxes and fees which was acceptable.

Today the EPRP is gone even though it is still shown and described all over that website but when you start shopping the New Unlimited My Way plan is the only option. So I went ahead and again entered the same phones and required data as I had done yesterday and the MRC is now $310.00 plus taxes and fees, not acceptable.

This wasn't a good idea but they were willing to do it.  This is just terrible timing on Sprints part IMHO.  Yes I know it may be a good deal for individual lines but for a family it isn't.  You are committing to a 2 year lock using phones that are NOT tri-band for NV best use and NV is at 50% complete (counting towers) at best.  It is non-existent in Ohio for the most part still, just like WIMAX was.

Not off to a good start for Sprint-Softbank-Clearwire.  Sprint's lost they are going to JUMP to T-Mobile and after 12 years I believe I will do the same next year when my contracts expire.

You can still get the old plans in a 3rd party like BestBuy. Not sure for how long, tell her to hurry.

  2. I sell phones at Best Buy and its great to show sprint customers my sprint note 2 and show everyone a speed test. I have been with sprint for over 10 year and I am loving life. Just went on a couple of road trips to South Bend and Indy almost LTE on both HWY 30 and I69. To everyone NV is well worth the wait, we in northern IN and the whole IPCS affiliate its been a log wait.

  3. Worked like a charm.

    Thanks.

How I updated npn rooted stock device to the new Jelly Bean Zip.

1st down load app to your computer. http://android.clients.google.com/packages/ota/sprint_samsung_l710/eec955eb4a5b.update_SPH-L710_LI3_to_LJ7.zip

2nd "I" took the SD card out of my phone and put it into a card reader and plugged that into a USB port on my computer

Once I made sure that the zip was there I put the SD card back into my phone.

3rd I turned off the phone

4th I held the up volume button, the power button, and the home button at the same time until I saw a flash that said Samsung and let all buttons go immediately.

The phone goes into update soft ware mode and a screen appears with blue writing and yellow at the bottom.

Choose the update from external SD drive option

The blue writing has source files that you can update, and you must pick the update that has the zip L7 file by using the volume up or down key

Once you scroll down to the zip file that is the L7 Jelly Bean update hit the power key and wait until the update is done and reboots.

you are now an updated SG III Jelly Bean user congratulations.

This is for those that think they are to lame or is afraid of making a go of this. Don't be afraid it is really this simple and works.

I hope this helps you un rooted people do what I at 1st thought may be impossible or would ruin /brick my phone. Well let me be the 1st to say don't be afraid to do this NOW!

At 1st glance the settings on the drop down menu is one of my 1st favorite likes.....no more hitting the auto brightness box by mistake when using the settings key form the drop down. Now I am signing off to explore the JB greatness.

DON'T BE AFRAID TO USE THIS ZIP! NOWWWWWW!

  4.

i have read both of these threads, but one of them starts talking about getting the .aim discount, which is not ethical, and the employee discount program, which turns out to not be better than my dads company discount, correct?

You have to look 18% is good but line 3-5 $20 add a phone plus $10 smartphone data = $30 per line.

Referral is $15 add on plus $10 smartphone date = $25 and i never get charged an upgrade fee.

Upgrade fee is like $30 each line. $90 for 3 phones every 2 years.

Just some me info for you. Welcome abroad.

  5. Benvino, are you able to pick anything up around the downtown or Glenbrook mall areas?

Check out the Sensorly map. Around Glenbrook low LTE signals but i was getting good speed. Then got good speed from the mall to downtown and the had to take the kids to the Zoo. And the Zoo was solid LTE :) not sure who was having a better time me or the kids.
