  1. I was frustrated after learning that I could not have my son and his wife who are sprint customers as well join a framily with me. So for 4 phones AT&T is offering $160 with 10gb of data to share and T-Mobile is offering $160 fur 4 phones with 2.5 gb line. Same Sprint Framily plan is $160 for 4 phone with only 1 gb per line... What gives?

  2. Yeah after the update android os and android system have been draining alot. Those and my screen are always top 3 draning. I am not rooted. I did a reset and its working better but nothing like before the update. Someone said earlier it could be the 3 LTE bands searching?

I was having an issue with my battery life being noticeably less after the update. I could get a day but barely. Before the update I could get a day and a half. I ended up letting my phone run down till it powered off then fully charged while the phone was off. It seems to be back to normal now. Hope that helps.

  3. I have noticed that some texts have been taking a long time to get to me. I think it started after the update. But they are also working to update the sCFSB hardware in my area... Could that be the cause?

  4. Between the horrible call quality, the bad Bluetooth, and the gps not locking on in many places, I had to give this phone back to Sprint. It's a shame because it really is a nice phone, and spark is ridiculously fast.

I am past the date that I could do that, but I wish I could because this phone drives me nuts with the blue tooth call quality. I use that a good bit. Also recently I was stuck roaming and call quality was horrible.

  5. You are in an Alcatel Lucent market where they are replacing Motorola gear. The Alcatel Lucent gear, when fully operational supports CSFB, which your Triband LTE device needs in order to keep an LTE signal. Whereas a Uniband LTE device like the GN3 and GS3 do not need CSFB and can use Band 25 LTE always.

AlcaLu is mad scrambling to get the CSFB upgrades completed and fully operational in the Norfolk market. When complete, you will have the same Band 25 signal that all Uniband LTE devices get, plus the ability to use Band 26 and Band 41 when you travel to other markets, and eventually when the other bands arrive in the Norfolk market.

More info about the CSFB issue can be found here: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-357-nexus-5-and-lg-g2-experience-temporary-sprint-lte-connectivity-issues-due-to-circuit-switched-fallback-technology/

That makes sense with the one then off again LTE signal. Do you have any idea when bands 26 and 41 will be available in Hampton Roads?

  6. I am debating if this plan makes sense. I am on the 1500 anytime plan with 4 people now. I have 2 other family members that I could add to our account. I don't see any month were we have used more than 1 gb of data. We do like to upgrade phones though. So, I am not sure how that works. Will it basically be full price for a new phone split up over 24 months?

  7. I am just getting LTE band 25 in my area which never was a wimax area but LTE has been here for almost a year. My wife's galaxy s3 gets LTE and I haven't. My speeds on band 25 are about 3Mb up and around 4Mb down.

  8. I had LTE for 3 days before the update at work and now it is gone so maybe that means it will be back soon, but they had to fix some things with it.

  9. Since I got the update my battery life had not been so good. I don't have LTE available that works with my LG G2 in my area. I can get a day, but I used to get a day and a half :-(

  10. I am sorry for asking, but I have installed signal checker and I was wondering how I can tell which band I am connected to.

  11. Wireless tethering is easily available by contacting Sprint and adding it to your account. No rooting needed.

God point but it is not something that I use that much. :-)

  12. I have rooted before on other phones, but i am going to stay stock for now. The phone is pretty great as it is. The only reason that I want to root is to wirelessly tether dance a jig. Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk

  13. I am actually kind of glad that other people are having trouble with the sound quality through the bluetooth... I thought it was just me. I really hopes that it gets fixed soon though.

  14. I am sorry to ask but what is the name of the signal checker app in the play store that is referred many times in this thread?

  15. I got a Nexus 5 the other day, and no LTE (of course). Went through the whole rigamarole with *2 and dialer codes, even went through and Enabled the other bands and set priority from 0 to 1 for them. LTE would flash for a moment at times, but quickly go back to 3G.

I spoke with a lady at *2, who said that 4 towers were being worked on in the Norfolk region. She didn't say what kind of work was being done, but did say that the scheduled/predicted day of completion of work was January 23. She gave the caveat that the work could be done before or after that date, and that was just a scheduled completion date.

Just as a note, I went from an HTC One, which had LTE working just fine on the very same day I activated the Nexus 5.

PRL on Nexus 5 is 55017, running 4.4.2 (though I don't think this has any bearing on anything).

So MAYBE LTE will work for triband phones by Jan 23? Or at least for band 25?

That is the same thing I am experiencing with my LG G2.

  16. Ok, that's an eCSFB issue. Aclatel-Lucent still needs to integrate the 3G side of the NV equipment, once that happens, you'll be able to get LTE there again. It has been deployed, there's just an issue with tri-band devices. It should be fixed soon.

For more info, see Robert's article on the wall: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-357-nexus-5-and-lg-g2-experience-temporary-sprint-lte-connectivity-issues-due-to-circuit-switched-fallback-technology/

From my understanding once that is fixed in the Hampton roads area, my LG G2 will get standard LTE. Then when the phone software update is out and spark is turned on by mid to late of 2014, I will get spark 4g LTE on my LG G2 in the Hampton Roads area... am I understanding all the information correctly?

  17. Alright, Norfolk market, enough is enough. Go take a flying leap into the Chesapeake. S4GRU has made it clear that we do not host Sprint complaints. If you want to leave for another provider, get lost. We do not care. But you cannot vent, complain, or rant here.

All of this information has been extremely helpful. Thank you everyone that has taken the time to respond.
