  1. NSB overall is average. Expect LTE just about everywhere beachside, but If you go all the way down beachside (A1A) to Canaveral National Seashore expect 3G speeds only. When on the mainland, LTE is only along the two main roads (SR44 and US1). Venture too far from them and you'll loose LTE.

If you're willing to go just a few miles north, Daytona Beach has excellent LTE everywhere. And I mean everywhere. If you're on ISB (SR92) in front of the speedway you'll get SPARK speeds.

I would like to know how the speed and coverage will be when the Daytona 500 happens next year!  I hope it's an marked improvement for the NASCAR fans and Daytona residents. :-)

  2. The trouble with the map is that it is too high level and makes it look like their is a lot 4G LTE in certain areas.  I live in the Detroit area and I use Sensorly.   However, I rarely get 4G LTE.  And when I do, it is not usually very fast.  What I do notice is that 4G LTE goes in and out on a daily basis and from block to block.  For example, there is a restaurant I go to and I get 4G LTE their about 50% of the time.  The other 50% I only get 3G.  Another example, I never get 4G near my house, but Sensorly shows it up and down my block.

In addition, Sprint has not even announced Detroit Metropolitan area yet.  So, what I suspect is happening is they are testing and turning on and off 4G at different locations.  I did notice the reception at my house became really bad for about 1 week and then recovered.

Of course this could just be my phone.  :)   I have a Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE.

I also have a Sprint HTC 4G LTE, and I notice that it comes and goes between 3G and 4G, where I am, also.

This is very disappointing considering that when the phone came out it was supposed to be specifically for 4G LTE experience.

  3. While heading to work today on Highway 153 in Hixson, TN, I noticed north of Northgate Mall that I had 4G LTE coverage to my surprise. Even while I arrived at work, I had the same coverage. I had a speedtest of:

My Speedtest result in Hixson for Sprint (LTE) : 7.92 Mb/s (download) & 2.40 Mb/s (upload) via #sensorly

On the way home from work, I noticed that it covered till Amnicola Hwy. I am pleased that finally it has arrived, however, I'm hoping that the coverage will reach my home, which is near the airport. :-)

  4. I mapped more LTE on the west and north side of Chattanooga tonight along Amnicola hwy to hwy 153. There is a cell site at the interchange from Amnicola and 153. As I went East on 153 I quickly dropped back to 3g. I wish I would have thought to get the id from that site.

I have traveled to the sites on Sensorly in the Chattanooga area and I did not get any LTE signals at all. Of course, it was during the afternoon. But still no signal.

Is there any reason why it shows up on Sensorly and really when I physically go to these areas? I recorded a LTE signal when the first sighting of 4G in Chattanooga, but not since then. ...

  5. Thank you all for the details and the area where there was signs of 4G in Chattanooga.

I decided to visit the sight at McCallie & Spruce mid-afternoon. The speeds were intermittent, at best. I did a speedtest and received 2.00 Mbps download and .10 Mbps, the best out of the few that I tried.

I realize with all the Network Vision improvements, it'll be a while before we have any consistent speed from Sprint. I hope it is quicker than I anticipate.

  6. Atlanta is still under deployment. Sprint is upgrading their entire network. Every switch, every site, every piece of equipment and hardware. It is a 2-1/2 year program, that will most likely end up being 3 years. It is the largest scale network project in one single under taking in American history.

The scope is much, much larger than Verizon's LTE deployment but will be done in the same amount of time. For those of us who do this kind of work for a living, the amount of planning and work being completed within this time frame is mind blowing.

When complete, Sprint will have the newest network from coast to coast on every site. LTE just about everywhere 3G is now, plus in a few places that never received 3G, like rural Nebraska, Indiana and Pennsylvania.

In your area, you are nearing rock bottom. But soon it will start getting better and better every week as each site gets upgraded. It is darkest before the dawn.

Robert, thank you again for your prompt reply. I sense that you reply faster than the Sprint representatives when any one of the customers use *2 on their phone. I appreciate the update, and the full explanation of the process of what the network is doing to get the 4G coverage.

  7. Robert, thank you for the reply and the information. I appreciate it.

Being a loyal customer of Sprint (I have had been with them since October 1998), I guess it's one of those situations when I have been waiting for them to upgrade its network for many, many years, as their competitors has already upgraded their network. My patience is getting worn too thin.

Furthermore, I have traveled twice after the rollout to Atlanta, and I don't see consistent 4G coverage throughout the city. More often, there isn't coverage than there is.
