  1. If you guys have any Roms where the dev thought it was cute to change the carrier branding you will never see your points on the map. They go into the Sensorly lala land as you are reporting coverage for a fake carrier.

I even tried to set some of these devs straight on the issue but they were more worried about how to make all their icons blue and how to put 57 toggles on the notification pull down. So I gave up..

well that explains it. sigh... i really like my ROM though...

  2. Sensorly maps are updated within several hours of getting new data, often within 10 or 15 minutes. If you are not seeing your data after a couple of hours, then there was a problem with your phone reporting the information.

Man, I'm so confused then. How many "points" does it take to register? Here's a screenshot I took after just 4 minutes of map trip just inside my house. Previous trips where I actually ride around town yield hundreds. The Sensorly app's home page says I've collected 2776 measurements... Now only some of those include LTE points but still!

Anyways... Still getting very strong LTE signal right inside my house. A few minute drive in any direction switches me over to 3G. I guess I'm really lucky! It's about as fast as my wi-fi through AT&T U-Verse's DSL and 10 times as fast as my girlfriend's DSL.

  3. I just drove through parts of La Jolla, University City, and Torrey Pines with Sensorly mapping. No luck on getting any LTE service.

How strange... I live in La Jolla/UTC and work in Torrey Pines. I was still getting LTE this morning when I woke up at home but now that I'm at work (which is only a few miles away) it's back to crappy 3G.

All the WiMax mapping on Sensorly is in known WiMax Protection Site locations when I just checked now. It doesn't appear to be showing LTE marking mistakenly on the WiMax maps.

Really? There is a small purple splotch in the WiMax map that is right over my house! The Map Trip function automatically uploads the data to the sensorly servers, right?

  4. All this LTE action in La Jolla and Santee, and not one blip on Sensorly. The New Orleans and Austin members would have had four cars mapping each site in an hour. :(

I'm counting on all you San Diegans who said that when LTE started going live in your market, you'd be all over it. Where'd you guys all go?

Haha hey! I've been using it, but the 4g gets reported as being WiMax...

Have you rooted your phone? We have found some ROMs incorrectly report the signal to Sensorly, causing it to map improperly, or not map at all.

Yes I'm rooted and using a custom ROM. That being said, it's still based on TouchWiz... Curious.
