  1. Does anyone know if the S9/S9+ will include the new GPS chip from Broadcom? I'm referring to the BCM47755 that was announced back in September. It's supposed to be accurate to 30 centimeters and use 50% less battery. I feel like Samsung would have made a bigger deal about it if it was included... But I'm still curious to see if anyone knows. Definitely looking forward to it though!

  2. So here's something I've been wondering about. Samsung says it will accept trade-ins from "participating retailers". Do they list who those retailers are? My phone is worthless in the Sprint buyback system so I was thinking of using Gazelle where I could get about $65. Would Samsung accept a trade in with Gazelle?

  3. :td:

Looks like I'm skipping the N4. I don't know what to replace my N3 with now :(

Although this is disappointing news, I don't think it's enough to keep me from getting one. It still looks awesome plus I want tri band!

  4. I have heard that the Note 2 and 3 will work fine with 128gb microSD cards. However, the Note 4 says "up to 64gb." What gives?

It should be able to use 128 cards as well, yes? - But why not acknowledge that explicitly?

Officially, the Note 2 and 3 supported up to 64gb. For some reason, Samsung still hasn't seen the need to jump to 128gb support with the Note 4. Probably because the actual amount of people who actually use that high of a capacity in their phones is so small. It's the same reason it chose to switch from USB 3.0 on the S5 back to USB 2.0 with the new Note 4. Yes, there are some people who could actually get a lot of use out of it, but Samsung probably couldn't justify the extra cost the feature would have added when only a tiny percentage of users would take advantage of it. There's always a tradeoff. However, it may "unofficially" work with 128gb micro SDs if the previous models did.

  5. Anyone seen if the battery is still swappable? I saw its a bit bigger and charges fast with the Samsung cable but not if its still swappable.

The battery is indeed replaceable. I saw a hands on video of someone taking the back cover off to show the battery. I'll see if I can find the vid.

    *Edit*

Here is the video I was referring to:

  6. Yeah, I've been sitting on my upgrade since June to see what the fall would bring.  Thought about the G3, but the Note 4 looks pretty enticing.   Was hoping HTC would have a competitor to the Note 4, but I don't see it in the cards at this point with the lack of leaks (or leaks that indicate first part of next year.)

I'm pretty much in the same boat. September 3rd can't come soon enough! I just hope the Note 4 has a monster battery. My One M7 hasn't been very good to me as of late with its constant battery drainage. It would be nice to not have to carry around a wall charger or portable battery bank wherever I go. For me it's between the G3 and the Note 4. I've never had an iPhone and I don't plan on changing that anytime soon.
