My wife really likes her galaxy s2 epic 4G or whatever the name of that phone is. It gets pretty good battery life.

I'm experiencing this in Los Alamos, New Mexico. I have a Verizon LTE hotspot. I have been using LTE in Los Alamos for three weeks. ...

I'm driving through your town tomorrow. I've been vacationing up in the Jemez Mountains for two weeks and will be driving back to Texas tomorrow. I wish I could take this mountain weather back with me.

I have confirmed that my Sprint GS3 has roaming capabilities on the moon. In fact, I was able to get a 5G signal up there.

Completely reasonable. I've thought the same things multiple times. Sprint deserves this kind of criticism. It's actually constructive for Sprint to see that long-time customers feel cheated by the quality of service for one of their most expensive monthly bills.
If I weren't in one of the initial launch markets, and if I hadn't seen first hand the speed of the new LTE service, I'm not sure I'd be waiting it out.

I was connected to a solid LTE signal (3-4 bars) for a couple of hours the yesterday here in Fort Worth. I was checking facebook and looking at the radar for threatening storms. I even ran a few speed tests to post on this forum. I noticed no major drain on the battery. In fact, it discharged less than it usually does under a similar number of bars with 3G. This was in stark contrast to my experience with WiMax, where I might as well have been powering a USB toaster with my EVO.

I was at a restaurant in the Riverside neighborhood of Fort Worth. Inside the restaurant I got these speed test results from the tower labeled DA03XC301 on your NV site map.
Earlier in the day I was downtown and connected to the tower you have labeled DA13XC532.
Those speeds are faster than my home WiFi. Unfortunately, the towers near my house are still not activated for LTE.

No problem, I actually posted that reply pretty quickly, then after reading my post it sounded very snarky. It wasn't intended to come out that way.
But I do agree with you, anyone that wants more detailed information about completed towers should become a sponsor.
No problem. I wish Sprint was as good at communicating useful information as this site does. There's no reason they couldn't give information about which towers are upgraded and activated. They probably could prevent thousands of customer service phone calls simply by communicating clearly. That said, they're still better at customer communication than AT&T...but who isn't?

Look at my tag - I'm a sponsor. This thread is about Sprint's coverage map on Sprint's website, and that is what I commented on.
Sorry, I can't see the tag on tapatalk. I guess what I should've said is that the Sprint coverage map is not an accurate representation. The S4GRU information gives a better reflection of what's actually available.

It's the same here in Houston - it looks live Sprint's coverage maps just blanket an entire market where they have launched LTE instead of showing the actual coverage area.
If you want to see what sites are actually completed, just donate a few bucks to become a sponsor on S4GRU. You can see the NV site completion maps in that forum.

OK so I hear the official rollout in DFW was today (7/15), but I can't test it myself as I'm out of the state for the week. Is anyone enjoying Sprint's 4G LTE yet?
--Beamed from my EVO 4G LTE to your face via Tapatalk 2.--
I had a 4G LTE signal near Summit and I30 in Fort Worth the last two days.
Unfortunately when I get more than a mile from that site, it switches back to 3G. At my house, I might as well get 2 cups and a string for connectivity.

Is it just me or does the second screenshot say GSM?
Mine did that as well. It also said it was roaming in 4G. I just assumed it was a rift in the time-space continuum.

I am in Mansfield, Tx which is South of Arlington. So far I have had LTE pop up 3 times, but it doesn't last long before going back to 3g. So we shall see
I suspect they're just running their final tests before they go live.
At least the Rangers are ahead.

I haven't received the update either. I'm sure it's just karmic payback for kicking all those puppies.
