If he has an Airave2, he should call and get it swapped out for an Airave 3 LTE. 
The Airave 3 broadcasts 1x, 3G, and LTE, whereas the Magic Box only broadcasts LTE. Right now, calls don't go over LTE, so a Magic box won't assist with calling.
Airave 3 doesn't do HD voice either. When Voice over LTE is implemented in the future, calls will be HD and go over the LTE that the Airave broadcasts. 

Anyone have an idea when the offical Oreo will be released for the note 8?

someone correct me if i'm wrong, but when they introduced the family share pack discounts no longer worked on the data portion, correct????

 

if so it looks like they changed that. I just got an email about the family share pack that said i could get the 20 gig one for $82/mo after my 18% discount.....

Im curious as to where you find an application filled for a site upgrade. Is it filed with the fcc? And how would you search for it?

I noticed my signal drop a little when i flashed 5.0 on it. all i am going to have in my area for a while is Bands 25 & 26, I used to hold on to LTE longer, now it seems like the phone prefers 3G

Edit: Nevermind appears that the .15 radio has the best performance in my experience so far. i was amazed when i flashed it and it showed about a 10 dbm difference in my signal level. I didnt even think that was possible. anyone know if this radio has any downfalls?

I'm considering flashing to a different radio on my nexus 5. Anyone know which one has the best signal performance LTE wise?

Definitely not ecsfb because my galaxy s5 worked great with no issues at all. So I might have to contact Google on it. Thanks for your help

That's great news. I've had to do that time from time. Out of curiosity, has this phone been used on another network other than Sprint?

It could be a network issue but in the meantime try this.

 

I'm going to assume you updated the PRL and your profile. In the past what's worked for me is putting the phone in 3G mode only and restarting. Once it's back on change your mobile network back to global. Next go to the phone dialer and enter *#*#4636#*#*. Under phone information turn off radio and the enable it again. Everything should work now.

I'm having an issue placing calls on my nexus 5 I just purchased data works great and I can receive calls but when I try to call out it says no mobile network. Anyone know what might cause this? My s5 worked just fine.

The only place I ever have had EVDO roaming on a stock prl was philadelphia, mississippi through c-spire I think. And that was about a year ago.
