  1. I wouldn't call it pessimism. It was optimism that had me check the Clearwire site daily for a year and a half and optimism that made me think Sprint might actually pull of their Network Vision as promised. It is abundantly clear now that the program is behind schedule and Network vision will be complete in late 2014. I think that is realistic and not pessimistic. It's best for Sprint if they begin to start managing expectations.

I guess I'm getting more like Robert the more I stick around the site, but this comment really has me heated. Nothing personal of course but how long do you think it would take to basically rip apart a nationwide network and rebuild it? and how often is that even done with carriers? Verizon announced in Jan 2011 and they expect to be done this year. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but thier deployment has been far less difficult based on how the rolled out, they are not doing what Sprint is doing. Not even close. Sprint is not only rolling out LTE. They are future proofing as well. If Sprint is finished in 2014 I would think that is more than acceptable. I'm just guessing at this part but well before the end of 2014 you will have more than enough LTE coverage where you go

Sprint LTE launch market connection issues

Sometimes I think it would be helpful for carriers to identify early adopter phones and explain to customers what that may mean exactly. Maybe even set up some special forums on their web pages for a little hand holding and such. It may not cost much but may go a long way. Carriers should really stop treating smartphone like feature phones.

  2. Well said and well written. I am not one of the complainers but I will say that I hope that Sprint does not let us down again. Many were promised 4G service and never got it, ended up leaving behind legacy plans that for the most cases gave them higher bills, and ended up with a $10.00 dollar charge for premium data all because they were promised something that never came. I understand the circumstances of WiMax but it still hurt tons of customers who believed. I was in Tampa and was always fine with it but I do wonder about those people.
