Do you have scp pro installed with site notes installed?

Running iOS, iPhone XS which is why I switch back to sprint. Their deal was insane. So no, I’m not running SCP.

The key item we are waiting for is the update of a number of former Clear sites from b41 to full Network Vision (we have lots of permits showing on the premier hunters maps). Most will have LTE 1900 and LTE 800 added with 4x4 capabilities for better performance at the edge. No word on whether they will have CDMA. Also have three permits for new sites plus discussions of others. But they do not exist until work is complete. When work begins the sponsor maps will be updated to show the known permits.
It’s interesting you should say that as sprint CS is telling me the primary site serving my area is down right now and that’s why I’m getting 500 ping and .8 up and down.

I’m on the south east side as well and i’ve never been a fan of Sprints service whenever I go out to Canal.
Well I am glad its not just me. I was stunned when I got 3G in the parking lot of the McDonalds on Gender today.
Got .8 up and .9 down with a 500ms ping at my house (in canal)
Im glad Sprint has a 14 day return period. We're going to kick the tires some more but it doesn't look good.

Interesting...so more of a small cell. Nice!
That would solve my problem inside my house but doesn't solve the 500 ping and .8 mbps downstream out in Canal Winchester.
I sent some cash to get access to the sponsor maps...I am wondering where this awful tower actually is located.- 3

Welcome back!
Personally, I have very little issues with Sprint coverage now days, especially since I have a Magic Box at home. What part of Columbus are u having issues with Sprint?

I saw 3G pop up today sitting in the parking lot of a mcdonalds and I about lost it.What is this magic box you speak of? Just a wifi repeater?

Hey S4GRU! Long time no sprint.
So I moved back to columbus from VA and due to the iPhone XS promotion, I switched from ATT to Sprint. So I was hoping things had improved, but it seems like the coverage I remember from 6-8 years ago. I really don't want to give these phones back but man these first 2 days have been rough. Any tips for dealing with sprint coverage?

Congrats on the new job.

Thanks! I will miss monitoring the ever changing ShenTelos landscape with you all. :-) One day I hope to return to a lynchburg blanketed in LTE.

Well folks, it became easier to move to a different sprint region then get shentel to fix this mess lol :-) (joking...kinda)
Moving up to Columbus, OH (got a new job)here in a few days, and will be promptly switching to sprint soon after. Its be fun, but I am looking forward to living an a market that is serviced by sprint proper.- 5

Well folks, I have to ship back my sprint note 5 today to the samsung test drive folks. Sadly, the network hasn't improved enough for me to switch yet, but I would imagine in a month or 2 it could be a very real possibility.

Things are still evolving here, judging by my experience driving around C'ville today. When I dropped to 3G, the transition time from eHRPD to EVDO was much quicker, without even exceeding the buffer in my Spotify app. I even transitioned back to LTE without the need for any kind of toggle.
Not sure if this am's mysterious service update is making any difference. (Anyone have a guess as to what that does?)

No idea but things have been all over the place here today. Hit 12 down :-)..averaging around 4-5.
At one point I think I was picking up a new tower as the signal rating was in the low -90's and I average -105ish at my desk but it lost the connection before I could get up SCP.
-
I'm over by 221 and 501. Not much LTE over this way, but its getting better.
LTE seems to be down for me right now in lynchburg...power cycled, forced to LTE...nothing.

On Liberty's campus in the middle of one of their large buildings...im getting around 6 down but .42 up.
Better then it has been. Things are improving :-)
Additionally the building penetration on Band 26 is fantastic..i understand why T-mo was so eager to get some low band spectrum.
Interesting...once again at around 10:30ish the speed was back down to .5 down.
That seems like a huge drop in bandwidth to attribute to tower load from the early to mid morning. Any thoughts?

Where at in Lynchburg?
Off of Timberlake near the Kroger
Another site, or possibly more, must have gone live.
Using Tapatalk on Note 8.0
But it appears that it is now back to the .5ish up speeds of a few weeks ago. Something was being tested..:-) But it gives me hope for the future.

Started running some speed tests this morning and for the first time at my house (lynchburg) I am pulling down 6-7 down and 2-3 up :-).

Took a trip up to Columbus OH for Christmas...boy if they can achieve the 25-30mbps I got up there, so much band 41..I can't wait to switch.

Thank you.
NP, I am trying the network out via a Smasung Ultimate Test Drive phone...looking to switch over myself lol!
I'll post if I see any improvement in the coming weeks.

Does anyone have a update on Lynchburg? Been wanting to move my line over to Sprint for sometime now so it would be incredibly helpful to know how the upgrades are going there.
It appears that there are around 2 active LTE towers. Data is SLOOOOOW (.5 mbpsish) via LTE and functions 70% of the time in my testing. 3G is still solid but it is no where close to being complete.

Same here, January 1st in Huntington.

If the rollout goes as planned, we'll switch in a heartbeat. Living in Lynchburg and traveling to Columbus frequently, most of my time is in the nTelos Zone...Can't wait :-)

Yeah, they have only two sites live in L'Burg at the moment. They are in good spots to provide decent coverage, but that's way too many people on too few sites. Need much more capacity.
But if you like the Note 5, you should enter the S4GRU contest to win one for Christmas. It ends tomorrow evening. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-402-just-in-time-for-christmas-raffleenter-to-win-a-new-64gb-samsung-galaxy-note-5-white/

You are not kidding, data speeds are actually worse than 3G on those towers.
When I force to 3g I can get 1.5 down and around 1 up.
On those towers I average .5 down and .5 up.
Local reps are telling me Jan 1 for the conversion...but we'll see.

Picked up a Note 5 on sprint from the Samsung Ultimate Test Drive.
Boy is the network spotty right now in lynchburg..LTE almost everywhere but the download speed is worse than 3G.
Looking forward to watching the network evolve over the next month. -
It varies really. I've hit 26 down but in 90% of places it's about 6 down. Much better than the 3G of course. Oddly enough even when on B41 I can't get out of the upper teens in downtown Morgantown.

Great, it should only stabilize and get better from here on out..works for me.
Thank you

Depends on the area. I've seen an average 8 to 14. Had one peak out at 30ish.

I generally get about 5mbps-10 and at home regularly get 15-25 Mbps. It's all about the area

One person was hitting 30-35 in the Boonsboro area. I have yet to connect...still
Looks like what I need to switch...Thanks everyone. I am ok with dealing with spotty coverage for a few months to save $40 on our monthy and get new iPhones

Someone posted a LTE test on RootMetrics near Liberty. I'll test it tomorrow to see if it's live... This would be the best Christmas gift ever!
Someone else in my office is getting an LTE signal but it looks like the speed isn't what it should be..he was only getting .9-1.1 mb.
But things are happening!

Pulled up field test and I looks like I’m bouncing between a B41 and a B25 site with db strength over -115db all the time.
Which makes sense why my coverage is trash. Does the site ID correlate to the maps on the sponser side? (I still haven’t been upgraded yet)
