  1. Give Sprint a call, make sure they activated your phone properly. Confirm that you gave them the correct MEID, and if you read it to them off the box, confirm that it matches the phone. Confirm the SIM serial number and have them read it back to you. There are a lot of important characters that need to be just right, funny how just one wrong digit can make a huge difference! :)

    Sprint Chat hopefully ftw.

I ask about Provisioning and suggested we double check the IMEI and SIM serial number.

Oooh the suspense on whether or not they will fix it!

Also being able to rattle off to them about 800 vs 1900 connections in support because of your app makes me very happy...TYTYTY!

  2. I was going to suggest going to the Radio Info screen (either with Nexus 5 Field Test or SignalCheck Pro.. there is a dialer code, but I can't remember what it is) and check the band selection in there, but when I click on it, my N5 crashes. I guess you're not supposed to do that.

Check the Radio Info screen anyway, ensure it's set to CDMA auto (PRL), LTE/CDMA auto (PRL), or LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL). Each of those is valid on Sprint; it shouldn't effect what band you are on, but who knows. It might restart the radio and get you connected.

Do you have a SIM inserted? Try removing and reseating it, then reboot.

    Tried toggling these...it didn't work

  3. Help!

Got a new Nexus 5 from the play store and am having the oddest issue.

I can only connect to 800 voice.

My phone will not make any 1900 connections voice or data. When I get to a place where 800 has no connection my phone doesn't work after about a minute of not being connected to anything I get a SIM error, restart phone and goes back to not working. It is like 1900mhz CDMA got disabled somehow. Also means I can't PRL or profile update as those are done on 1900.

I can figure it out... any help would be appreciated!

Edit: Figured out I can update PRL and Profile via WiFi....didn't help.

  4. I have gotten very frustrated the last couple days.

I am down to 6 hours of battery life on average and it 100% related to Google Play Services.

I have tried restarting, I have tried killing Play Services manually (it just restarts)....what the f is going on?

Any ideas what is causing play services to rape my battery?

  5. Hey

I can't get Google wallet to work on my G2...Has anybody tried to use the NFC capability on the G2? I have tried it at 2 different locations and nothing happen

Touch and pay support is not yet enabled on the LG G2.

Hopefully it will be shortly orrrrr we get KitKat in December and it takes care of itself.

It is the feature I am looking forward to the most.

  6. Isn't it just as easy to change your keyboard in the notification window?

As far as wifi, I try to use it as much as possible, but Sprint simply works and Comcast both at home and at work constantly has connection and timeout issues. It's just annoying having to reload a page 5 times because of "connection lost" errors. It's nice having a reliable 30 mbps connection.

I would freak out if my home internet connection dropped regularly.  I would call them everyday until they figured it out.

  7. I only figured it out by going into settings and changing it that way..

Alright, wondering if I should go into the screens and change the priorities or just leave it..I'm right on the edge of a tower for lte and can barely get a signal with it..don't know how to do screen shots to post either..in a speed test last night the highest I got was 8 up and 1 something down..

Only the default keyboard supports the long press on spacebar to change keyboards.

After you change to a different keyboard it doesn't appear that any other keyboards support that feature.

If that is at home why not just connect to your home internet?  It will be a lot faster in almost all instances then you don't have to worry about messing with your priorities.

  8. I found two fairly large bugs.

    1. If your phone is on silent the alarm goes off, but your snooze alarms are silent.

    2. Facebook is struggling to recognize contacts in my wife's phone. I assume this is either an android or phone issue. She is new to Android brought her contacts over from iOS and when she syncs with existing contacts it loads all her FB contacts.... Works fine for me though. Also took a few times of syncing her account contacts to even get them on the phone, again no problems here as an existing android user.

  9. My Best Buy pre-order placed 10/16 still shows "Order in Process".  First and last time I will pre-order a phone from Best Buy.

    Mine is getting delivered shortly.

I ordered on 10/14 so that might be way.

Also could be because I am Elite Plus, but would have assumed they shipped them all out the same day.

  10. My Best Buy package shipped.

I have the tracking number, they shipped it ground (used to work for UPS and know the tracking number sequences) which is frustrating considering they shipped it after launch date.

  11. Can you confirm if you can connect to B41 LTE?  Did you set it to highest priority and go near a B41 LTE tower?

I think it is fairly clear at this point it isn't possible to connect to Band 41.

Maybe after we get a system update (hopefully for band 25 issues) then we can re-dump the APN file.

  12. It is time to bomb the Sprint forums with the LTE Connectivity issues.

Everyone who has a phone and lives in a LTE community needs to post the issue on their forums to get the ball rolling at Sprint.

  13. I did a little more research on this, Best Buy has a warehouse in Shepardsville, KY.

16.5 Miles away from the Louisville Airport.

I would bet about anything that our phones will be coming from there.

  14. A bestbuy rep told me that the G2 is being held in a warehouse in Tennessee and it will take 2-3 in the southern states but 3-5 in places like California and other parts of the NW

Tennessee would be Memphis, which is the FedEx Air Hub.  If they are shipping the packages Air (which would be logical if they are in Tennessee) they should be able to get to anywhere in the country in less than 2 days.

  15. Typically my orders from Sprint have shipped from Louisville, KY. And sometimes I will have the phone the same day they send me the shipping email (email will be sent 1-2 days after phone shipped).

Louisville is the main UPS hub for the entire country.

Almost every UPS Air Package runs through Louisville.  Sprint actually has their warehouse on UPS property to expedite time in transit and reduce their cost.

  16. Just so we are all clear.

I think any questions about this phones functionality from this point forward need to be taken with a grain of salt.

The devices in the wild are not running launch ready software.

  17. With all those dummy entries I don't think can. I think your running pre released firmware that wasn't supposed to hit the streets.

Not just think....for sure these phones have bad software.

I bet a firmware update pushes to solve this on launch date.

You know the file is a test file because of the comments and included LGE email address.

  18. last night i switched priority settings to 41-25-26 and it would not connect. I kept getting an can not establish a secure wireless data connection, so i switched it back to 25-26-41. I did not get lte after that until just now. It connected but dropped after 2 minutes. Changing network modes from global to cdma/lte seems to force a connection, butit drops shortly thereafter. For those interested in wifi performance. It seems to be better than my htc one

Once it drops it just won't re-connect at all?

Or does it eventually cycle back around and connect again?

  19. When I activated the device I had an active lte connection. No problem. Not even 5 minutes later I enabled the other bands. I honestly dont know if I would have had any issues with 25 had I not enabled the other bands. I should have waited a bit to enable them. I am afraid that these are the issues that delayed this device and the reason only band 25 was enabled.

Maybe disabling them is not actually disabling them and causing interference of some kind?

That would indicate a complete reset but another user mentioned they already did this.
