  1. Got LTE for the first time on Smoky Hill and Himalaya in Aurora. Just mapped on sensorly. Awesome!

Same here. I took my kids to a playground near Southlands Mall today and when I got to the playground my phone said 1x. About 5 min later I looked at my phone and it said LTE! I couldn't believe my eyes. Speeds weren't the greatest, but I didn't care because it's a great start in my opinion, and it proves progress is being made! The photo doesn't show LTE at the top because I forgot to take a screenshot when it happened, and had to pull the results up when I got home. u6ybu8e4.jpg

  2. That's not grounds for a class action lawsuit. Your network upgrades will LARGELY be complete within the time period it said. It did not say wall to wall LTE. It did not even say LTE at all. Also, you waived your right to a class action lawsuit when you signed your contract with Sprint.

In his defense, Sprint has been leading people on for years. It's like a bad relationship.

  3. And I just got home and discovered 1x800 voice! Signalcheck says it's coming from 162 High Country Drive, Lafayette, about 2 miles from me. That's new too!

Just compared that to the top secret member only maps, and that site is marked with a brown dot, indicating it has yet to be upgraded. Since 1x800 would indicate that NV is up an running on that site, that would confirm that the work in Northwest Denver metro is farther along than the maps indicate.

One further note, I usually get 0 to 1 bar of service on the ground floor of my house. With 1x800 I am getting 3 to 5 bars. What a nice surprise!

Is there an app on iOS that tells you signal information like that, or is it only for Android?

  4. Oh, man... 50% of the calls I make now drop. Sprint knows it and has open the doors for credits and anything to make you happy. This seemed to happen in DFW right before Lte started coming online. So I can make do as long as it comes.

I travel from 104th and Hwy 2 to Quebec, down to 70, to 225, to Parker Rd, then to Arapahoe and Jordan everyday and back. I've had to switch to mp3s and check maps before I leave now. Pandora doesn’t cut it anymore. Total loss from 225 and 6th until I70. Can't wait for it to clear up if nothing else...

Anyone know how long it takes for a Sprint Credit to appear on your account after Sprint issues it? I was told on Sunday that it could take up to 72hrs for a $15 credit to show up due to dropped calls and no data. It has now been about 93 hours and still nothing. Should I call customer service again?

  5. Okay, time for some dirt.

The Sprint network backhaul (switch side and branches) is near completion. The only slowdown is the "last mile" backhaul of getting the fiber to the sites. This is done by outside contractors and they are well behind schedule. The network will be ready Jan. 1st. and the 'last mile' should be completed within a couple months of that (weather permitting).

As for the sponsor maps, I am considering a huge data dump to get the Denver area updated. There are easily 2 or 3 times as many "in progress" sites completed than are up there. It might give you guys a better perspective on why the 'last mile' is taking forever, those guys are SWAMPED.

Will Sprint's new network upgrades include the Aurora, 80016 zip code, or are they skipping this area? Whenever I look at the network.sprint.com website, it seems that there are no towers in my area. Unless I just don't know what I'm looking at.

  6. It would be a hardware limitation, so it will never see LTE 41.

Look at Sensorly.com (or the app) for good real-world coverage maps. Also, Sprint does have a trial period. You could always sign up and see how the service is where you need it. Not sure how porting works if you were to decide to go back to ATT, though.

I believe Sprint stated not too long ago that they were not going to drop unlimited data in the foreseeable future. I'm thinking a few years at minimum. They will probably see how their subscriber base is after NV 2.0 and how their network is holding up and evaluate it then.

Would you happen to know if Sprint will be adding any new towers in different areas as part of the network vision rollout , or are they just replacing equipment on the current towers?

  7. Hi everyone, I'm new to this site so forgive me if I ask a silly question...does anyone think its a bad idea to port from at&t to Sprint? I'm thinking about getting the 5S on Friday, and I keep reading that its missing band 41 of LTE. Is that a cause for concern? I really enjoy my LTE with at&t, but I would like unlimited data with Sprint. Does anyone know how Sprints network is in the 80016 zip code of Aurora not too far from Southlands mall? I live close to where Gun Club and Aurora Parkway meet.
