Kermans tower is in the finishing stages of a new install. Luckily , for us we dont use ATT backhaul. The Kerman tower is actually 25 feet from a fiber backbone hub from Time Warner over Sebastian lines. It looks like Kerman will get 4g lte before Fresno. Sorry Fresnans.

Anyone in Kerman notice anything?

The signal seems stronger but no real data speed increase.

Our wimpy little tower has just gained some fingers! Talked to the contractor and 800MHz & 1900MHz confirmed!

From what I understand....there is a testing period (time frame varies) and then a certification process before it "officially" goes live.

Buddies in Kerman will appreciate that
This mean lte soon in Kerman?

Definitely the goofiest looking tower in the LCV, but it will look better with NV hardware on it.
and to think...this little thing is serving 15000 people population! The tower has been there for over 20 years!

And today in Kerman, Ca....Ericsson started installing fiber up the tower to support the new panels!

In Kerman....(yes I may be the only one in Kerman but oh well) I have a friend that actually works at Sebastian Corp. where the Sprint tower is located. He confirmed that they are laying the 50 ft. fiber to the fiber hub in town which is in the building next door and that the cabinets are being installed. Samsung also has rented a man lift and are preparing to update the coax to fiber. We may be 15 mins. west of Fresno but hopefully that is a good sign for you Fresnans to our east as I take it as a good sign for us Kermanites.

Agreed that single site is way too overburdened
Mendota and San Joaquin are in the same boat
When on the phone with the rep and he says...."Woa that tower is overloaded bad!" You know it has to be bad.

I live in Kerman, Ca which is 15 min west of Fresno. We have one cell tower that is ALWAYS over capacity. We had an additional iden tower also but then it was shut down with the rest of iden. My question is with the lonely tower. Once the NV is complete on that tower will it still be over capacity from the get go? Or does the capacity load get better with the upgrade as well? Oh and I can confirm that the site is eHRPD, but all the cabinets are the old antique ones. This site is in the Sebastian Corp yard on their antenna if that helps anyone.

So assuming that the backhaul is there and the panels are tested and ready for some of these sites....What holds them back from pushing the on button?
