Okay needing help understanding all this "LTE Plus" stuff. Is our Note 4 "LTE Plus" enabled? If so, then should we be seeing a difference in speed or coverage or both?

When it rains it pours in Kerman. BAND 41 IS HERE!

Unless you turn off LTE on the handset, you cannot use an Airave with a tri band handset. So, if you have consistent LTE at home, all calls incoming/outgoing will be through the macro network. The Airave will sit unused.

Good. The AirRave was nice but has its own problems like handing off to the macro network. So if service is improved to where i no longer drops calls then I will go without the AR. I just don't want to jump the gun and then they optimize it where I am no longer with good service.
I have to admit that I don't understand the "empty" spots around Kerman where it drops all data and barely any voice service and you can see the tower. For instance, the Taco Bell drive through. You can have LTE until you drive around to the window. Then NOTHING.
My hope is that they use the old Nextel tower. If they do that we will be well served in the Kerman area.

The throw on Band 26 is really nice in Kerman. 5 miles away in my home and I am recieving LTE coverage. I also have an AirRave and the LTE will supersede it. I may not need the AirRave, but am holding on until all optimization is finished.

The lousy indoor coverage is still pretty common from my experience all over Fresno for sure. I think that's just that way it is for now, not that that helps but...
When LTE 800 is all over town.... it should get better.

In the west side of fresno, is anyone constantly being switched from 3G to LTE? It happens whenever i have LTE on. Also at my school (4055 N Bryan Ave Fresno CA 93722) signal is fine outside but inside it goes down to 1 bar of 3g or 1 bar of 1x. Anyone have an idea of what could be causing these issue and maybe a staus of tower upgrades in the area? Thanks!
I drove by Glacier today and noticed that you are on the fringe. It is going to bounce all over the place when indoors. When outdoors you will pickup the tower on Shaw/Polk which is pretty screamin'.

Im getting Band 26 here between Kerman and Biola (west of Freano).

So it has been half a month since the last post..... any news in the Lower Valley Section? I, myself just got back from Downtown Disney with the family. I was actually surprised that I was on 3G for the most part in the actual park. I did however enjoy driving back through the valley at 4G speeds for most of the Freeway 99 corridor to Fresno.

My church is 2 blocks south of the Kerman tower. When I am there it was typical 3G (1900mhz) Service. I live 5 miles north of Kerman and when I left town my phone (Galaxy s4 non-spark) would switch to 800mhz (voice). This has been going on now since Sept of 2014. Near Biola though it does pick up 4gLTE (band 25) in spots from the tower at 99/Polk.
I can concure though that yesterday while at church it stayed on the 800mhz band while at church and never switched. I don't know what that means, if anything, but when I last talked to c.s. at Sprint, 2 months back, they informed me that 4g would be coming "within 90 days". It has been in that status since 2013!

Has there been any tactics used to speed up NV 1.0 or 2.0 that has been effective? Or is it that they will get to it in their manner, no matter what.
Calling customer service seems to do nothing.
-
I was surprised that there was zero service on route 1 between Morro Bay and Carmel, not even roaming 1x.
And you have to actually get into Carmel for data
That is a dead zone for most carriers. You may only have 500 people on the Big Sur at any one time. Caycus & MB has 4G. Not fast but do-able.

no more info for Bakersfield? I am enjoying the Spark Speeds in Rosedale & on the other side of Bridge from me speeds are helping me with my downloads since I am using Sprint Free Hotspot Just love never being throttled hope that everyone is enjoying the New Year
Sprint Free Hotspot? What is this? Did you need to root the phone?
-
They actually did. Sprint 3 months back put a microwave dish on the tower so i am not sure if they still do but it wouldnt make much sense if they didnt provide the bulk of the backhaul since it is their tower. Sebastian would actually be dumb to not have that in the lease agreement.

It's tough in this market because it is either really good or really bad. There is really no middle ground.
My biggest (personal) complaint is why they would have LTE in towns of 12,000 and 7,000 (Mendota and Firebaugh) but not have it for a town of 17,000. Kerman is a blackhole with all the other neighboring towns with LTE. It makes no sense. Oh and the backhaul/hub provider is 2' away so that cannot be an excuse.
-
Yes we did Get LTE before Fresno yet they have 105 upgrades vs our 65 upgrade which does not make since & No Bakersfield does not sux thanx lived here since 87 when I use to live in LA if you look at my past post you will see LTE since February
Fresno has more sites over Bakersfield since Fresno is a bigger city (200,000 more people)

Looks like a 1900 RRU to me. Were they not there before? It looks like te legacy gear was taken down, but you would know better than I would when that happened.
They came down yesterday and today. With the other RRU's going up.

They just installed the dark gray boxes behind the panels. Not the top little box on top right but the dark grey one on bottom right. Any ideas what these are?
-
They have man lifts at alot of the sites in Fresno. Something is up in Fresno for sure.

this dish was installed on the Kerman site today. What does this possibly mean? This site has been throwing 1x800 but no 4g. Is this for data or just communication to the neighboring tower? Thanks for any input.

Not an anomaly. Two towers south of town have lte. When the stars align and the wind blows and the coyote jumps over the moon......lte shows up on 180 and Brawley.I did notice a blip of lte in downtown Fresno that appeared on Sensorly, anyone know if that's an anomaly or is there 4G down there (haven't been down there for a couple weeks). It's one round blip of purple at Tulare and O St.
