  1. Rochester Telephone became Frontier then the cellular branch becam Bell Atlantic Mobile then Verizon Wireless. It became so difficult to keep the billing correct on my legacy Frontier plan that I switched to Sprint. After I graduated from RIT in 1983, I took a job with my current employer. At my suggestion, the owner now has a Sprint tower on the roof that pays for the campus utilities. :-) I turned down an interview with Kodak shortly after accepting the job and my many Kodak friends thought I was nuts. Only 2 still work for Kodak today. I believe that Kodak developed the imager/sensor technology that started the digital camera revolution. They made a strategic misjudgement of how fast the market would change that was fatal. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastman_Kodak#Shift_to_digital
  2. I'm in Chili, adjacent to the airport. Still 3G. I agree service is much better. Haven't dropped a cal in a long time.
  3. >>>11 locations broadcasting LTE<<< From what I see on Sensorly, there are only 3 transmitting near the city: North Chili, Irondequoit, Henrietta. Maybe they were briefly turned on elsewhere? 1 mile west of the airport I have yet to see LTE. My dropped calls have drastically decreased over the last 2 weeks. Maybe we'll all get LTE for Christmas :-)
  4. My voice service has improved. I drove home from work on Hudson Ave all the way home to Chili and the call did not drop. Last time I tried that, it dropped 3x. Things are looking up.
  5. Very briefly had LTE on Upper Falls Blvd @ N Clinton this afternoon.
  6. I had LTE (3 bars) on Hudson Ave at Ave D today, in our 3rd floor conference room. Only 0.5 MBS though. Sensorly is show strong LTE at 104/Genesee River. I believe that is what I picked up. Still 3G in the parking lot. We have Sprint antennas on our building. They took away their old equipment last week.
  7. There were NCS (I think) Wireless trucks in my work parking lot on Hudson Ave today. We have sprint antennas on top of the building. I asked the plant manager about it and he said "It was Sprint but they already did an upgrade. This crew is removing the old equipment.". Sill 3G today, and not very fast.
  8. LTE @ Rt 15 & Lehigh Station Rd. this afternoon. Highly variable speeds. Reverted to 1x at one point. Looks promising! In Alexandria VA last weekend had LTE in many spots even though not 'announced'. Saw York PA advertised on a billboard and another town on the way home.
  9. My wife received an email from Virgin mobile with a subject line: "big changes are headed your way." It says "We're upgrading our nationwide network and we've started work near you." and has a link to http://newsroom.virginmobileusa.com/networkvision I've received no notice from Sprint for my phone, but have noticed an increase in dropped calls which tells me something is happening.
