  1.

I've not made any changes to the map since it was posted. I will be working on S4GRU most of tomorrow and will take a look at it. I'm pretty tied up today.

Take your time I appreciate it.

    Thank You

The current state of Sprint's network is pretty bad for 3G data in many places. Network Vision will correct most of these problems. Fortunately' date=' Indy is in a sooner rather than later area. You should start seeing network improvements this year...and some 4G LTE.

    Hi Robert

I noticed that the Indianapolis map doesn't have dates anymore has something happened?

Also do you have anymore news about Indianapolis?

    Thank You

  3. sorry to burst your bubble but those towers have been everywhere for years. Sprint has started doing some upgrades in our area but I have seen no improvements as of yet. those towers are probably AT&T t mobile or Verizon towers that absolutely destroy sprint service in our area' date=' since we were shafted on the 4g. I am excited to have 3G speeds above 100kbits also lol.[/quote']

Hi, actually all of the new hardware I'm referring to has been added in the past few months Max. The tower picture I posted had those added a month ago.

Most areas speed is fine with me 1mb, bit some areas are bad. Also those areas have the same issue with Verizon 4g and ATT 4g

  4. Was thinking about adding a line to my account because my bro needs a phone' date=' but I don't want to buy one. Can this baby be used with Sprint?

    Nope

  5.

Perhaps so-- Government needs to stay out of it and let the market decide. Once a monopoly gets too comfortable' date=' an innovator with a better product and /or price will come forth-- necessity is the mother of invention... and when it does, the customers quickly vote with their wallets. Always have faith in the consumer-- as long as he is well-informed![/quote']

I would have to 100% disagree with you government was a direct cause of this duo and should have every right and cause to break them up when the time comes.

  6. It appears that Verizon is trying to make some concessions by selling its A and B blocks of 700 MHz spectrum in order to try to persuade the FCC to grant the cable company deal for the AWS spectrum. What do you guys think? Personally I would like to see how much spectrum Verizon is willing to give up in exchange for the AWS spectrum. Unless its a lot more than what Verizon is gaining in the AWS deal then I say no deal. I don't really know of any carrier besides AT&T that really deploys LTE at 700 MHz anyways.

Hopefully AJ can chime in on this but if Verizon were to sell its A and B blocks of 700 MHz spectrum' date=' what frequencies are we looking it becoming available to carriers and how much spectrum?[/quote']

I don't think it would be enough spectrum to let it pass the FCC. They should be forced to add some of the C block to make it nation wide and at least 5x5.

  7. There is approximately a 6 month transition period between when LTE is installed and when CDMA is to be decommissioned. During that time' date=' Sprint's provisioning team (which they actually contract out, so it's not really "Sprint's team") tests and monitors the newly constructed sites and ensures a smooth transition from the old CDMA equipment to the new LTE equipment. This is all done in the wee hours of the night/morning when network traffic is at its slowest. As for turning the network on site by site vs. lighting up the whole network up at once, I'll have to do some more research.

On a side note - Verizon maintains their own network.[/quote']

We are seeing alot faster transitions than 6 months.

Can you post some information to verify this information?

Most/all LTE Advanced UEs will be carrier aggregation limited to two or three carriers. So' date=' 40 MHz, maybe 60 MHz is likely to be the largest practical downlink.

    AJ[/quote']

What's stopping them from doing one large carrier at 60mhz or 100mhz?

Most of the tests that show extremely fast data are done with said configuration.

  9. Sprint owns all usable (allowable by FCC regulations) ESMR spectrum nationwide except for SouthernLINC's holdings in the southeastern U.S.-- and that is the ONLY area in the U.S. where cell phone emissions are allowed below 817 MHz. There are no other usable holdings for Sprint to obtain.

In other words' date=' IF Sprint bought out SouthernLINC, they could use an additional 5x5 MHz of space in the Memphis, Atlanta, Birmingham, and north Florida markets. FCC only allows the 812.5 - 817 MHz cellular usage in these areas (Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, north Florida, and parts of S.C.) The rest of the country has 817 MHz as the lower limit (which Sprint holds the entirety of the ESMR space).[/quote']

I thought Hawaii had ESMR frequency that sprint did not own but was usable?

I can't remember the company that owns it off the top of my head.

I wonder what Sprint is going to do with Boost then. Just shut down the stores and encourage all Boost customers to sign up with Sprint and go postpaid for SDC? If so I am totally fine with that. I wonder if Sprint is planning to charge the 10 premium for the SDC customers..I hope so since it will help Sprint a lot. At the end of the day' date=' I just want Sprint to rid themselves of any remnants of iDEN all together.[/quote']

I think sprint will leave boost cdma the same as it is now.

If they offer ppt to boost it will devalue the service completely.

I think sprint charges a $5 premium for it now.

  11. I would think that Boost Mobile customers should be alerted as well. Maybe there are not as many Boost iDEN customers so they don't need to pull the plug on them yet. Also Sprint will need to provide them some Direct Connect phones for Boost. I am not sure if Sprint plans to offer the same Direct Connect phones to Boost Mobile as they do on Sprint. I am sure Sprint is working together with Boost on this transition and I expect an announcement hopefully by mid year.

I would highly doubt Sprint would do ppt to boost again, if they do they should charge at least $10 extra for it.
