  1. I saw that yesterday -- also saw a few threads involving those same characters on the sprint message boards as well.  To have someone claiming to have inside knowledge that the Note 3 will indeed end up tri-band is intriguing and something to keep an eye on, but I still have my doubts...  The point of the 500 being pushed through the FCC only to then have the 520 push through WITH tri-band is also something to hold up hope for.  We will see.

Not a huge stretch of the imagination since HTC is reported to do firmware updates and enable other bands.

  2. I can practically promise you that Sprint will not offer any LTE Advanced capable handsets this year. And LTE 800 capability this year, while possible, is no given either.

Going off of the Network Vision roadmap, I would project that the big LTE 800 device push will be next year, and the big LTE Advanced device emphasis will not be until 2014.

So, on one hand, you can wait for additional options before you upgrade. But you will never get ahead of the curve. And the longer you wait, the longer your subsequent upgrade eligibility just gets pushed back.

Alternatively, you can upgrade now and be in position for another subsidized upgrade by this time in 2014, at which point the LTE Advanced 800 capabilities that you desire are likely to be readily available.

So you're saying that the Note 3 won't be capable of LTE-A?

  3. 3G here in Chicago is awful :td: . Love being in an LTE area which Chicago land is getting alot more of, but once it drops back to 3G I put the phone away, cant even stream Spotify or Slacker.

It is because so many people stream Spotify and Slacker and other music and video programs that the service is overloaded. Along with Sprint's less than optimal licenses in Chicago.

  4. I'm hoping for the same thing, just for basketball instead of football. I've had Nebraska season ticklets for several years now, and the Devaney Center has horrendous reception. I'd get there 2 hours before tip off, and service would be okay. But by tip off sending text messages or checking Twitter was pointless, because nothing would go through. I'm hoping PBA's cell service is more reliable.

Pinnacle bank Arena is getting it's own cell network inside the arena. IDK if they're doing anything for Devaney which is going to be used for Vball and other sports.

  5. IMO the thing that really sets it apart is the fiber backhaul. If a tower doesn't have fiber run to it latency and speeds suffer immensely in a city. Might not be a big problem in smaller towns, but will probably become one as more people think it is necessary to stream pandora  and youtube 24/7

  6. Its a modest increase assuming these rumors are true. All i am expecting is to get similar battery life to the note 2 except with a slightly larger screen.

Don't forget that you need to be comparing with the Note 2's battery which is actually 3100 maH.  This means that 3450 maH vs. 3100 maH Note 2 battery is actually an 11% increase in proposed battery life.  I don't get the whole 50 maH battery thing...why not just round it up to 3500 maH,

It's mostly based on physical size is my guess. At least they didn't round down to 3400 right? ;)
