  1. Did you uninstall using TB? Have you restarted your phone yet?

Today's post has been brought to you by Sprint, the letters GN and the number 2.

Not sure what TB is. Removed the apk using the file manager in TWRP recovery. I have confirmed that VVM.apk is still gone, but that doesn't seem to have actually been the voicemail app. Not sure what it was - so far I haven't missed it.

  2. I've finally got around to uninstalling the Voice-mail apk and I now my MFing ROM is complete. I went to Voice-mail settings with the phone app expecting to see a Force Closed error and was presented an option to choose Google Voice as my VM carrier!

Can you tell me where the voice mail app is? I thought it was VVM.apk, but removing that didn't change anything as far as I can tell.

    Thanks!

  3. Are there any previously reported towers that are off right now? Sensorly shows 4G at Vista Way and El Camino Real just north of the 78, but I only had 3G there yesterday, even after updating my PRL.

I have had no data service for the last 1 hour+. Poway to Torrey Pines and points between. Sprint denies all knowledge. Is it just me?

    …and it's back.

  4. I'm sure this has been posted somewhere before, but I haven't found it. I apologize for my laziness.

The Note II is my third Android phone. The first two, a G1 and an OG EVO, both got rooted by this point. But I'm really happy with my unrooted Note II. I would like to know what I could do better by rooting? And what capabilities would I lose?

    Thanks!

  5. I got a notification this morning on my Galaxy s3 on sprint zone that the new enhanced network is coming to your area.. I can post a screenshot if you need one.

I got that too. Of course the Sprint Zone app never really explains the notifications it gives. I know what we're all reading into the notification, and I hope it's true, but... I guess we'll see.

  6. For what it's worth, I was able to install Wallet from the Play Store on my stock unrooted Note 2 and get it all set up with a funding source and everything. I have not tried to pay for anything yet.

  7. Maybe I'm the only one who didn't know this, but I was excited to notice today that my LTE data connection stays active during phone calls.

  8. Aiight, here's a question for you Note 2 users

    MA7 vs LK8 vs MC2 modems?

any one here from southern california have any recommendations? Reason i asked i recently upgraded to MC2 i get less 4G LTE in San Diego, i kinda feel like its Evo LTE all over again LOL

so perhaps wondering about others here experience with modems of Note 2, i am definitely going back to MA7 modem because i hate to change between too many times to avoid doing something wrong

My impression of the LTE in San Diego is that it's way too variable from day to day and hour to hour to tell if the baseband makes a difference. It'll be interesting to hear if going back helps, but I suggest waiting until LTE is officially turned on before doing any serious tests.

My Note 2 (unrooted) got the upgrade on Wednesday, and I haven't noticed a significant change.
