  1. Does anyone know if its possible to disable 1x1900 voice so my phone will always use 1x800? I was able to disable 1900 LTE and that has helped a lot. I wouldn't want to do this but 1900 doesn't work well in my area and i consistently have poor service but have a good 1x800 signal available and my phone works great on the occasion it uses the 1x800 signal.

  2. I have roaming turned off on my M8 and I saw it connect to VZW twice on the same tower and it didn't show roaming on the phone. If I'm on Sprint at this spot it's very weak and I often drop the call here and the VZW tower is right there. I connected to US Cellular yesterday with full signal as well at a different spot several miles from the nearest Sprint tower, again showing no roaming indicator and with roaming turned off. Has anyone else seen this happen or have an explanation for this?

  3. If you look the the NV complete map, you will see why you might not always be on 1x800....

That would be true but my non spark tab3 stays on 1x800 90% of the time in my area. Also after the update my phone is picking up 1x800 a lot less and even calls made while on LTE use to all be 800 now they Seam to all be 1900

  4. Wifi calling Will fix that or you can use Digiblurs PRL to force 1x800.

    Sent from my M8

wifi calling is good at home but I experience this around my area as well. 1x800 works great and will fix it. trying to figure out how to get the PRL now

  5. I'm just curious, but what do you mean when you say that "1900 is crap" where you live? Do you mean you are always dropping calls, missing incoming calls, or that you get choppy audio?

all of the above plus delayed text

  6. I don't remember what is the priority of each band, but i would think that B25 and B26 are pretty much similar in terms of speed. The LTE 800 has better in-building penetration and further propagation, but i've noticed my phone is on LTE 1900 at my house more often where before it jumped back to 3G.  Maybe hey tuned the radios ???

I just updated yesterday so I haven't had a lot of time with it but I've noticed a stronger signal. I'm also picking up 1x800 less which is bad for me when I need it more. I've noticed no change in B25 & B26 they still swap back and forth like before however It may be  less likely to drop quickly to 3G but haven't had long enough to confirm that.

  7. Staying on 1x800? There are custom PRLs that will put 1x800 higher on the priority list, that is the only way. Otherwise, if have even a weak 1x1900 signal, your phone will likely stay connected to that until you try to make a call and it re-evaluates signal options.

Do i need to be rooted to put on a custom PRL?

  8. Has anyone had any luck with band priority after rooting and M8? I really need to stay on the 800 band while not on LTE. The area I live in 1900 is crap  but my phone stays on it most of the time. I have to do something about this. I've called sprint 3 times which is a waste of time. I love their answer "put your phone on CDMA mode and it will stay on 800" I laugh at them, I've been there done that. The phone acts no different on that mode or LTE mode. The signal is there just give it to me!!!!!!!

  9. Until Sprint can get all existing customers onto triband devices to see the true power of the network it will continue to be badmouthed by current AND former customers.

I have a triband phone and a non triband tablet and my tablet keeps LTE more than my phone. My phone will drop the signal quicker than my tablet even when it's on B26 vs B25 on my tablet. Also my tablet will stay on 1x800 a lot more than my phone in weak areas, my phone is almost useless in the area I live BUT I would be able to make great calls IF my phone would stay on 1x800 instead of 1900. I have to wait to make calls or I miss them because of this when I have an 800 signal available that I could make clear calls and have much improved service but I hardly ever get it. Sprint needs to fix this.

  10. In my limited experience with 800 my phone parks on 1900 but as soon as that signal becomes weak enough it switches to 800.

Thats one of the problems, my hangs on to 1900 until there is no signal and I end up with bad phone calls, dropped calls, or not able to connect. Meanwhile a good 800 signal is available

  11. I'm not sure but I often find that my phone parks on 1x1900 but when I attempt a cal it switches to 1x800, so it may bot be a problem of your device connecting but your device won't stay parked on it. That sounds like the network is simply trying to stop 1x800 from becoming overloaded so it pushes your device to PCS.

My phone when on 1900 connects to 1900. It doesn't swap to 800 at the time of the call unless it's on LTE. I went through Columbia a few months ago and when I lost LTE my phone parked on 800, I was hoping this would be the case here but so far It isn't.

  12. anyone know if there is a way to get my phone to prioritize 1x800 over 1x1900? I work on a boat and go up to 15 miles out and my phone will pick up an unusable 1x1900 while I have a usable 1x800 signal available. My phone will only briefly swap to 1x800 for a few seconds not giving you time to do anything. Also In the area I live service is terrible around on 1x1900 but my phone still stays on it. I can be closer to the tower on LTE and when I make a call it will connect to 1x800 but not when on 3G. When I connect a call on 1x800 while on LTE and drive to the bad area the call still has perfect call quality on 1x800. Any help with this would be great.

    Thanks

  13. I just looked at my battery usage today because I was down to 59% and I've hardly used it today. 34% usage is from the wifi calling app which wifi calling isn't even working but it is on. Anyone else have battery drain from this app?

  14. I've been having some issues getting 3g data since the update. I can't get any at all when in a weak area and sometimes none at all in a strong area. I've never had this issue in the same spots before the update. LTE is working fine. Anyone else experience this or have a solution? Also I haven't been able to get wifi calling to work. I keep getting an Authentication error, I chatted with sprint and she did something and told me to leave phone off for 30 min and that it will work... Well that didn't work.

  15. Anyone else having issues with Acrobat Reader temporary freezing phone and not opening the document? I need to use this for work and it's aggravating. Sometimes i have my Tab3 and have to use that to look at a PDF because of this.

  16. My M8 has shown a few times on SC Pro (Verizon) and (uscelluar) while connected to Sprint. This has happened even when roaming is turned off. I wasn't roaming when this happened and has happened on EHRPD only and it's happened on more than one tower. Anyone else experience this?

  17. One annoying thing with the M8 is if your doing something and screen lock it for a few min and come back and what you had open on the screen is gone and you have to go back to it. Also when going between tabs or just going to internet it reloads the page automatically which is a problem when I have bad or no service and I want to read something I have open. Any solutions to either of these?

  18. Having issues with my M8. Over the last week I've been missing calls even though being close to a tower. My phone has also been dropping LTE a lot even close to a tower. It seems that I'm missing calls when I'm on 3G not LTE. I think they started using EHRPD about the same time so this could be the cause of it. I have a Tab 3 that I compare with and I don't have issues holding LTE or does it jump back and forth a lot. The missed calls are a huge issue, not sure if this is phone or network related. I think it would be network/software issue. Also I can get about half of my calls to be on 800 IF I'm on LTE if I'm connected to 3G I never have 800 unless there is absolutely no 1900 signal even an unusable one will beat out 800. This is also bad as 800 is really needed for this distance especially in my area. Anyone else experiencing this? solutions?
