  1. I'm guessing that is a really tall site.

So according to the links its an htc tower, I assume they are the ones up there if it sits alone.

I see many along 22 off north that are a dood deuce at least in height. There is a surprisingly decent amount of towers in our rural areas. Just that they need to be fortified/utilized. Looks like we are histarting to see it right here. Great job finding a new build!

Man, imagine the difference in coverage, capacity even with just a regular dual band set up. Or even one of the lower cost 4 carrier triband antennas.

    That would be sweet.

I'm guessing it's ATT because HTC owns it. I hope I'm wrong though.

  2. Does anyone know what tower is going up at rte 9&57 behind bojangles? This just went up in the past couple of days and the panels are going on it today. I sure hope it's Sprint, this site would solve 95%of my issues. From what I can tell all of the other companies have great service here so I may have some hope.

    This is possibly the one.http://www.antennasearch.com/sitestart.asp?sourcepagename=antennachecktowerreview&getpagename=pgtowerdetail_fcc&cmdrequest=getpage&ipos=1&registration_number=1292357

If it's HTC than it's ATT. ATT works great here, my wife has them and she has full bars most of the time in the house which is close to this tower. I wouldn't expect it to be ATT unless it's because of capacity.

  3. I experience an unusable signal all the time. I work on a boat off the coast of SC about 15 miles north of Myrtle Beach. I get a usable signal around 8 miles or so depending on exactly where we are. I often get a full signal past this but it doesn't work. There's quite a difference between all the companies on the ocean here. I'm surprised I can't get a signal farther out as it's open space. Sprint and VZW go about the same TMO goes further and ATT goes farther than all of them. we sometimes go 12-14 miles and ATT will work pretty much the whole time. I may be wrong but it seems like GSM travels further(usable) in open space.

  4. I've noticed something weird like this in Longs/Little River SC. There's one spot where I've even dropped a 1x800 call to give you an idea of the coverage at this spot. I've seen on multiple occasions a full Sprint signal but days apart, ironically it's right at a tall site which I think has VZW, ATT, and poss TMO but not Sprint. This morning I was driving at this spot and received a call and had full signal and call quality was great. The odd thing is I've picked up this full signal in the past with roaming turned off but signal check said VZW and no roaming indicator was there. This site could also service my house but I've never got a signal from it at home unless I'm roaming on VZW. Sprint really needs a site here, I could only hope. This is the only spot I've ever seen this.

  5. I have the M8 as well and, on the rare occasions I actually need 1x800 it seems to make the transition with no issue.  I'm using stock PRL.  Haven't changed a thing in that regard.

Edit: Just a thought but do you think it's more network related and not the phone itself?  Could your proximity to Canada and being on the fringe of 1x800 coverage be causing these issues?  I am only offering a guess here.

Yes it's network related... Not enough towers is the big issue. too many 1900 gaps around me so that's why I need every call on 800. There's even one spot I sometimes drop an 800 call. At that same spot there's a nice big tower with ATT/Big Red/TMO but not Sprint. If Sprint was at this site it would cover most of the gaps in the area. This area in Longs is way too busy to have bad coverage.

  6. I'm having swipe text issues since the Lollipop update. Sometimes I'll swipe a word and it won't show up and it will happen several times. I had no issues before this. Anyone experience this or have a fix?

  7. I am in the basement of a hotel in the fitness center. This is Shentel land, Grantville PA. In the elevator my phone snagged 1x800, and now I'm on a very usable -115dBm B26 signal on the treadmill, not a window in sight.

My phone never hits 3G, and it doesn't like to let go of band 26. If it loses LTE, it hits a -85 1x800 signal. Even on 1x I was able to use iMessage with no issues.

I think this is what a fully optimized site finally feels like. :)

when you lose LTE does your phone always stay parked on 1x800 or do you see 1x1900 a lot? Àre all your calls 1x800?
