  1. I've used Millenicom for several years.  I liked that I wasn't locked into a contract unlike with Sprint.

Now I am not sure what I am going to do for internet at home.  Millenicom was the only Data MVNO I trusted.  The data cap for sprint data plan through Sprint (12 gig for biggest plan) would be a non starter for home internet use for almost any family, but where I live our choices are either Wireless internet (Evdo/3g/4G) or satellite.

Now I am going to have to decide if I want to keep my device on the Sprint network or not, or just go back to using my Novatel WiFi hotspot on the Verizon network. It definitely puts a damper on my enthusiasm for watching the Sprint rollout.

  2. Millenicom has Netgear 341u

Just found out that Millenicom can no longer offer Sprint service by end of the month.  Something to do with their gateway provider (some third party) being dropped by Sprint.

this well and truly sucks, as my main concern for Network vision was to use on my millenicom tri-band that I just had to upgrade to a couple of months ago. Was looking forward to my local tower getting 4G and my family being able to have close to real internet, be able to watch a few movies a month, etc.

I also have a Verizon network miFi I planned to drop once Sprint went 4g, saving me about 70 or 80 bucks a month.

  3. I don't think sprint would have renewed jack without some reassurance they will also supply LTE demands for us in ntelos badlands.

I wonder if it will affect the NTelos rate structure to customers.  I would hate to think the NTelos customers will have to give up the extra money they can use to get access to the Rooftop Pool full of bikini clad models with a live mariachi band playing.

(That's an NTelos ad for those who haven't seen it lol)

  4. I have a dilemma then, that maybe you guys could help with regarding this issue.

I talked to Ntelos corporate yesterday and they said they had not started building 4G out yet and could not confirm when they would. Much less when it would be in Lynchburg. That being said I would think Lynchburg would be one of the first in their 4G rollout since it is one of the biggest cities they cover.

My main questions are .... should I continue to wait for this 4G rollout and do you think the speeds through Ntelos will be up to par with other 4G providers. I have T-MO, Verizon and US Cellular 4G offered in my area.

Thanks in advance for any help you guys give.

It depends, I will make an assumption that you are not locked into a contract (or dont mind paying an ETF)

Then it is going to depend how much data you use and how much you will consume on 4g.  If the data caps are going to be a big concern, then you should probably stay where you are.  But if 4G availability is the overriding factor and you dont want to wait a year or more, I would jump to Verizon.

I so wisely invested in a Samsung Galaxy S4 barely a month ago, so I am currently stuck with Sprint, and it looks like absolutely no priority to do anything 4G in Central Virginia. I am currently wishing I had gone with Verizon, there is usable Verizon 4G LTE in my neighborhood and at the rural Drive In theater I frequent.  Sprint just isnt there, and sadly, looks like NTelos is way behind even them.

  5. Anyone know when Lynchburg,VA will be getting LTE...... new here and I have tried to find ANY info on my city and so far I have had no luck! Thanks in advance for any help.

I could be wrong on this, but I think Lynchburg is in the NTelos footprint.  NTelos is also upgrading their network to 4G LTE. but there has been some disagreement between Sprint on how fast that should occur.  Sprint is also doing some overbuilding in the NTelos region, which might get NTelos to move a little faster.

  6. Out in Goochland, along I64 west of Oilville but east of Gum Spring, I get 4G LTE all the way from about Perkinsville Rd to maybe about a half mile short of the Gum Spring exit. Nice to  see it on out there, I am hoping it goes live all up and down I64.  Saw on the Sprint website that they had a data speed upgrade at Hadensville exit , but it was still 3G when I drove past en route to Ferncliff last night.

It will be nice if they get it at the Hadensville exit especially so when I go to the Goochland drive in theater,  I can surf while waiitng for the movie ;)
