got eHRPD in Salisbury this morning. Thought I'd try to cycle CDMA-CDMA/LTE as i drove past a tower this morning, and there is was. It held all the way to work, even though I barely have signal at all at work. I really thought it'd drop once my coverage got worse, but it didn't. Suffice to say, I'm gonna take the long way home tonight and see if I can confirm it in other places around town. I was started to get worried how it seemed almost everyone else was getting eHRPD and I wasn't finding it in NC.

no I stayed down there for about a year after i graduated high school in 2000. I have a couple cousins that went to Interlachen though they are about 8-9 years younger than me. Love that area though, its so isolated and couldn't get a sprint signal for crap when i visited a couple months ago.Melrose, eh? Did you ever go to Interlachen High School? I graduated from there in 1994.

I used to live down in Melrose, my first job was in Keystone Heights, and my first car insurance office was located in Starke. </offtopic>lol! My cousins live in Starke, I often visit them there. :-P

i noticed a few weeks back that 3 sites were added to the NV Sites Complete in charlotte. Just wondering if anyone in charlotte had noticed any increased speeds near those areas or possibly any LTE sightings.

the one by magic mart was down a few weeks ago (my wife works there and was complaining to me about it for a week). There is also a tower near the old Salisbury Mall where JC Penney's is at, and another tower near the Sprint store on Innes St. The news yesterday about the cities that will be upgraded in the "coming months" coupled with the work i noticed at the tower has me excited that my small town could get LTE pretty soon. I can hope so anyways.Just drove by the tower that was pointed out today in Salisbury (the one by the YMCA). I can confirm better speeds. No LTE yet.
It seems the one by Magic Mart / Ryans was also improved. I am unsure of how many other towers exist in Salisbury.

that sounds pretty nice, i honestly wasn't expecting any upgrades this far north of charlotte for at least a few months. I've noticed myself connecting to this tower periodically from home, so hopefully the upgrades allow me to connect to it a little better. I never get a signal stronger than -100 at home and miss quite a few calls.According to the premier sponsor maps it's about time for that tower to get NV upgrades. I would suspect that's Sprint NV upgrades happening. If you upgrade to premier sponsorship you can see planned dates for each tower upgrade in all the markets.

so this morning I noticed a tower I drive by every day (CR54XC045)looked like it had some new equipment on it. I decided to stop by after work and get some pics. There were also some guys out there working on it, I didn't want to disturb them by asking any questions so I let them work in peace. The main thing that caught my eye was the cables that are hanging from the equipment down to the base of the tower. Hopefully someone with more knowledge than me on tower equipment can confirm that this is indeed sprint equipment.
and here is a pic of the tower from google maps that confirms to me that it's new equipment:

Here in Salisbury I've noticed a couple towers lately lose 3G altogether (could only connect 1x or phone would roam). I doubt seriously it had anything to do with NV, even though one of the towers wouldn't connect for like a week.

Yea its a lot harder to see the purple spots now, with the exception of Chicago. Its the only dark purple in the US.
