  1. I'm stumped. It surprised me, actually. I have thought about this quite a bit the last few weeks. I have three ideas:

    1. The site is much older than anyone realizes. Its possible its been there for 6 months or more, but it was just discovered as a new site recently. So it could possibly been installed just before NV really got started in the area.

    2. The contract and design for the new site is old and precedes Network Vision. Maybe there were delays in planning, zoning and permitting.

    3. This site was added urgently and maybe even using old parts removed from other decommissioned legacy sites. Might as well let these old legacy components be useful and fill in a coverage hole. If this is the case, they will have to add this site to AlcaLu's contract by change order and this would probably be one of the last sites in the market to be converted.

All of these are just theories. I have no idea.

All sounds plausible. I do know driving on RT 140 near where the site is now I used to roam and drop calls. Now I have all my bars! Just really slow data speed.

  2. It could be. Or it could be that it is close enough to another site to get a signal from there. Maybe it will show up on today's update?

If you get over near that tower in the future, maybe you can connect and tell us your LTE signal strength from your LTE Engineering screen. That would help rule out whether you are connected to the new site or not.

    Thanks!

Ill see what I can do. Kind of a drive from my house.

On another note. Why would they build a new tower (King St New Bedford, Ma) but not make it 4g right away?

  3. It's just a great place to spend a long weekend, or a vacation. Good dining, beaches, etc. But I guess to someone who has those things already to them on a local scale, Cape Cod may just appear to be a big tourist trap.

My wife worked in Hyannis and said the people that live "on Cape" think they have their own little country there. She said many people never venture "off cape" Snobby people too she said. I did think about going to Martha's Vineyard this summer but I went to New York instead.

  4. Surely, you're joking. Right? It would almost be impossible to live in a place like New Bedford and never been to Cape Cod. Unless you are a new transplant to Massachusetts.

Born and raised in New Bedford. Farthest I have been is Hyannis to the mall. Guess being a local it doesn't tickle my fancy. Am I missing anything good?

  5. Bobby any news around RT 6 in Wareham? I see the tower as complete, but two weeks ago I wasn't even getting network vision speed, never mind LTE. I am talking RT 6 around 195 connector and twords Rose Point

No I dont know sorry, but did you see the post above yours? By 9-21 all completed towers should hopefully be turned on for use.
