  1. I am alive!  :rasp:

Dumped both the Galaxy S4 and the Nexus 5 and now have a Galaxy S5 and my coverage is MUCH better all over. Not sure what the S4 problem was but the Nexus 5 had some kind of chip problem. They offered a refund but I decided against it.

Not sure if the coverage is better because of the phone or because Sprint lit up some new towers and set loose some new technology but I am happy with what I am seeing. Too bad it took almost a year!

  2. C'mon, AJ. It wouldn't be a NV Sites Complete % update without Killswitch complaining about indoor signal penetration!

    Exactly!  ;)

Sorry I am not a fanboy and can't hold your hands and skip down the hall singing Kumbaya!

Sprint should have never sold LTE phones in a market that can't support them. When I got mine in August I was told by the CSR that it would work perfectly and it was 100% better than the 4G (That worked perfectly for me!) When it didn't, I took it back to return it and they refused. So sue me for having a bitter taste in my mouth.

  3. In 4 months St. Louis will be an official Spark market, Band 41 should be widespread, Band 26 will be coming online, and more sites should have been completed to infill in areas where there is already congestion.

But what about the rest of the markets? What about the more rural areas?

From my experiences, you get very far from any city and off the Interstates, you might as well use tin cans and string to make calls. Sprint;s footprint is minuscule and non-existent is a vast majority of the USA.

  4. Well, between terrible LTE coverage and now image compression, I am really having a hard time staying with Sprint. They seem to me like a company without direction.

I have 4 more months on contract and if something doesn't change drastically I will move on.

Unlimited data sounds like a great deal, but if they compress it, or if it is not available then it means absolutely nothing.

  5. It was 9:52 am, tuesday 1/28/2014 at that particular time.

it is not a consistent problem, in fact my sprint experience lately has been so wildly in-consistent in any of the various locations I frequent the last month or so, its extremely difficult to blame one particular site or sector.

today on the same site and details listed above, I just pulled a 54ms ping, 5m/2m, which is a more acceptable, if lower than normal/expected result.

Most times this particular site is +/- 10 to 15m down and 4-8m up.

Anyway, I wasn't trying to complain, simply providing a point of reference for some of the crazy network behavior going on lately.

I too am extremely disappointed. I deliver packages throughout the metro area and I lose connection going in and out of most buildings I encounter. I thought it was my S4, so I bought a Nexus 5 and it is just as bad. I carry an S3 with WiMax and have absolutely no problems whatsoever. It doesn't do any good to complain because the standard line is "It's a work in progress", blah, blah, blah.

I am going to break my Sprint contract and move on. Maybe in 10 years they will have their act together. I know a lot of people are tired of the wait. What good is unlimited data when you can't use it? Seems like a farce to me.

  6. I really think you just managed o find the holes. With the exception of downtown, there are enough sites completed to at least provide outdoor coverage across the whole city. That's all that's required for launch. In fact, that's more than required for launch. And nowhere does any carrier claim to provide consistent indoor coverage. Expecting indoor coverage everywhere is unrealistic, for any carrier.

    Seriously? Wow.

  7. How do you like the N5?

Nice. Depending which model you got, that nearly breaks even.

Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Awesome phone. Very quick, nice screen, awesome RF performer, and the ability to swap between Sprint, AT&T, various MVNOs, and Tmobile on the fly is very nice.

I should have it by tomorrow unless UPS is still having issues. I just hope the signal picks up better inside buildings. My wife has an iPhone and I used it today and it worked so much better than the Galaxy S4 it was sickening.

Not sure if I have a POS phone or if all the S4's on the Sprint network are crappy.

  8. Can't say that I read the whole the review, but having the N5 for nearly a month now, I haven't been able to go back to my HTC One (and that's a pretty damn nice phone). Partly because I get AMAZING LTE coverage now, considering how little coverage there actually is, and partly because I've found I do like the pure Android experience.
