I've been using this direct number to Sprint customer service. They answer immediately during normal hours. If you don't want to wait on hold, the number is (866) 561-0035.
-
That's the thing, once the notification pops up, when "onscreen", you can grab it and flick up to unlock the phone and launch that app as if you had clicked the notification as normal. It's really quite ingenious. And yes, I was playing with the Sprint version. Unsure if it was any different from other versions.
Oh, don't mind AJ. He can be a bit of a curmudgeon, but that's only because he feels that, for example, the "spectrum crunch" is caused by things like streaming media solely for vapid entertainment purposes... and not for any legitimate-seeming reason. He'd rather only those that need smartphones have them, and... some days, I'm kinda with him on that.
Did the Sprint version have any branding on the back?

"The GS3 has one of the strongest radios out there, next to the Note 2 and GS4."
Really? why are my kids iPhones getting better signal than my S3? Seems like their antenna gets signal in places where my S3 doesn't even get any signal, 3G or LTE.

I've always heard Motorola's got the strongest radios.

If Sprint doesn't buy them, someone else will. Sprint customers who travel to Northern California (like myself) would be very happy.

I'm thinking of ditching sprint after 10 plus years. Big red here I come. Sure the plans are a little more money but so what. It doesn't break the bank. At least with Verizon you get what you pay for.
?
Verizon's LTE speeds are the slowest in the nation.

Didn't the Softbank CEO say Sprint would eventually match Verizon's coverage?

I assume you're exclusively talking about the coverage, right?
Yeah. Where I can make a call.

After testing all 4 carriers in LA, I can easily say that Sprint is #1. I've yet to see "No Service." The Root Metrics maps make my point valid. More green than any other carrier, especially in the San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys. I know this isn't the case with other cities, but Los Angeles is Sprint's territory.

At this point, you might as well wait to get a tri-band phone if you can.
Unfortunately the phone I have my heart set on isn't tri-band. That LG G2 is just so ugly.

Do you actually lose HSPA+/LTE?
Yep. Reverting back to EDGE or losing service all together. And of course there's no in-market roaming here so you're out of luck. PSH...

Yep. When I was in holland, mi my sister on TMO had no service on the beach near a $$$ marina.
Are you talking about voice or data penetration? Mind telling us where this happened?
Countless buildings in LA including my house. Outside, full bars -80dBM. Once you step inside, -100dBM and above. Sprint never had this problem, and they share the same tower.

I am one of the 1 million who joined T-Mobile during their last quarter and I'll be coming back to Sprint later this month.
I don't understand why T-Mobile's building penetration is SO bad. T-Mo and Sprint both operate at 1900. Could it be tower spacing?
I mainly wanted to test out T so I got a Nexus 4 and a prepaid SIM. One of the most disappointing aspects of T-Mobile is how they purposely block roaming in large, touristy areas where they don't have service.

In LA (the San Gabriel and San Fernando Valleys) Sprint has the best 'call coverage' on RootMetrics maps. Way better than Verizon.
Data is another story.

hate asking but what's the minimum to put in to become a sponsor and have access to those maps, I'd love to donate as I use this site daily and it always helps me out
I'm pretty sure anything...or $5

How would you guys feel if customization was an AT&T exclusive? I sure hope it's not!
Also, if I wanted a customized phone (not just a black or white model), I'd have to order it directly through Motorola. I'll probably just get a black one, meaning I could order through Sprint.
August 23rd is the big day!

Sprint should definitely acquire US Cellular. USCC covers Northern California well, while Sprint is nonexistent.
-
Rather than paying $15 a gig, you could pay $10 for unlimited. Right? I prefer throttling also..

It doesn't make sense to keep both plans. That would be overcomplicating things.

But yeah, Sprint needs to get with the program. As a future customer I'd like to purchase my phone without contract, but that's not an option.

Except when you pay off your phone, your monthly doesn't go down.

Does anyone recommend investing in Sprint?

Same in my area, except Sprint is -80dBm and better, while T-Mobile is -110. Same tower.
