I was thinking it would be the first to store information like contacts on it like other carriers. Also, a quick question when you travel internationally, do you just buy a sim and pop it in? Since Sprint has never allowed this in the past it is all new to me.

Is the removable SIM going to be the same as on the iPhone 5 or will it be different?

Hope they didn't start that NV upgrade in Southern NJ too soon... Sandy has other ideas.

I think this is great, but I am worried about markets that have been announced already. For instance NYC seems to be moving much slower than it should if it is to be launched soon, as they claim. Every week it seems 10 towers are done. Are the announced markets on-schedule, or are they running slightly behind?

LTE iPhone spell disaster or success for the Now Network?

One has to realize that all that is out there is speculation. While I am rooting for Sprint they have a huge uphill battle to fight because of years of terrible planning. Sprint definitely needs to become profitable very soon (as they have had an operational deficit now for quite some time). However the investment research group Zacks still maintains a neutral feeling on Sprint for the long term and the average target price of Sprint stock is $3.62. I am a firm believer that if NV is successful then Sprint will be successful. If NV is completed and still does not bring the network up to the levels put forth by Verizon and AT&T then that will spell trouble. I would like to reiterate though, I have used some upgraded sites and I think NV will be highly successful and turn Sprint around.

Sprint wants to know if you can hear me now in Atlanta???

Yeah in the Manhattan market they have done 140 bandaid fixes and 84 more planned. These as far as I know are not NV. But why are they doing these bandaid fixes in NYC when NV is starting shortly? Seems like a waste of money.

I read it as if they will experience the improvements by the end of springtime. That would make it seem like NV should be complete by June(ish). If Sprint is to overhaul their entire network by the end of 2013, then Atlanta should be done by the end of June at the latest. I personally do not think the end of 2013 is feasible for any carrier. Even Verizon did not has as widespread a rollout as NV claims it will be. I think we will be highly lucky if all the first round cities are completed by the end of 2013.

Sprint will no longer be LAX about its network, because the Los Angeles Metro market will receive Network Vision/LTE deployment in 2012!

Yeah I can say that the big cities will present multiple issues as many towers are not directly accessible by the companies as they are up on top of building towers. This could slow the process down in large cities. I expect NYC will be very hard because of the density.

What I was trying to say is it looks like primary cities will be available in 2012, but it will take more time to get smaller markets on NV.

I do have to worry that they may get behind on all these schedules. The first round is definitely a big first step, but it looks like it will take a lot longer to get the secondary markets up and running. With all the first rounders announced and with just 10 months left to the year, I really don't see too many more complete markets coming online. LA, NYC, DC, and Boston will all take 8 months at least.

This is awesome news, and I am thinking they are already mobilized in NYC. There is one tower in the Bronx I connect to occasionally that has speeds up over 1.0Mbps on 3G and the connection has improved greatly. I live in Westchester and there have also been a few towers that are noticeably better.

I have felt for awhile now that for every two steps forward, Sprint always manages to take one big step back killing that forward momentum. I have been on this site for a long time, since the WIMAX days. This company really, and I mean really, needs to turn its numbers around quickly. Today, I feel they fell flat on their face after all the hype. It is like the coach who says his team will come out swinging in Game 7, they are #ALLIN, only to lose in a landslide.
